A good dog is better than a wife. Always listens. Always tries to communicate. Wants to be with you. Shares everything with you. Never complains about what you provide. Like simple things, such as a walk, a tossed ball. Always happy when you return home. Makes you feel loved.

@MsShavonne @nicksortor In this state, since the governor told local police not to protect ice, their actions have no consequences.

@samstein @AndyKimNJ The Biden FBI opened investigations into Republicans who challenged elections. Tried to call this a criminal conspiracy. Senators who impede ice are committing actual crimes.

@DesireeAmerica4 He got charged extra for the pretzel bun, pepper jack, grilled onion, and jalapenos. Then got charged on top of those charges for a "complicated order". I would be pissed about being double charged, and it likely was the server who added that double charge.

This guy is bragging about leaving a single dollar bill as a tip on a $60 bill at a restaurant in Baton Rouge. Why? Because the kitchen slapped him with a $5.75 "complicated order fee." Let’s look at what this man actually customized: a double Wagyu burger with a pretzel bun swap, added bacon, added pepper jack, added grilled onions, added jalapeños, and "no garden." He literally rewritten the entire menu and expected the kitchen staff to perform culinary gymnastics for free. Yes, we all know eating out is getting insanely expensive, and these hidden surcharge fees are annoying. But at the end of the day, if you can afford to order an extremely expensive $18 for a Wagyu burger and $14 for a Jack and Coke, you can afford to tip the human being who served it to you. If you're going to be this cheap, do us all a favor: stay inside your house and make a sandwich. Absolute clown energy.

@akuareindorf @EHRC Well, trans identified men define assault as being called a freak or weirdo, or being told to leave.

I've never seen any evidence that trans-identified men face an enhanced risk of assault in men's loos. But in case they do, the @EHRC Code says that, wherever practicable, additional mixed sex options should be made available. Another option is for men to stop hitting other men
Owen Jones@owenjonesjourno

The risk of a trans woman being abused or assaulted in the men’s toilet per visit = extremely high. The risk of a woman being abused or assaulted in the women’s toilet per visit = extremely low.

@ApatheticNo @AmericanFemnst It is interesting that some of the replies twist the fact of you not having an unaffordable car into a supposition that you were not allowed. Gen z seems unique in their sense of over the top entitlement.

Boomer here, I didn’t have a car until I got married and my husband had it before we got married. Concerts were way cheaper and usually sponsored by local radio stations. Until I got babysitting jobs (at .50/hr) I got 3 new outfits when the school year began. My mom sewed some of our clothes. She canned fruits and vegetables. She did this until we got old enough and then she got some house cleaning jobs and was home when we got home from school. One parent was always home when we returned home from school. Child protective services was nonexistent so families with domestic issues with kids were forgotten. Stop complaining, we had rough times which is why we now have government overreach for some social programs.

When I was a teenager in the 90s, everyone had a car and we “cruised” for fun and never worried about gas. We ate fast food and went on dates at restaurants multiple times a week. We went to concerts and raves and bought name brand clothing at the mall. We worked part time and always had extra money. Our parents owned nice houses, worked ordinary jobs, and took us on vacation at least once a year. I feel sorry for Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

Holy shit, people. The kids are out of control today. I posted the story of the purchase of my first home. They went ape saying you couldn't buy a home for that now. I posted two homes in the same town as my first home, one was less then the inflation adjusted amount, the other a little more. People were literally saying they weren't modern enough...

@BrutalAsBucs @EdgeCrusher14 tell yourself that. The first thing that happens when a borrowers starts skipping payments is letting maintenance go on the house. Might be faster to find a house that needs work and do it yourself.

My 20 year old is home from VMI and leaving for boot camp tomorrow. He made himself a smoked Gouda and bacon grill cheese sandwich for lunch and I started laughing. I told him he was eating ‘poor people food.’ The look of confusion on his face was priceless. I thank God he was actually confused.

@Avabelly__ If the thrift store sold you a pay of jeans that was worth $20, but only charged $10, would your co-worker feel obligated to pay the difference?

Found this in a pair of jeans I thrifted. My coworker found out and she told me to bring it back to the thrift shop because it's the right thing to do even if it's just $10. She mentioned that if she found even a cent she would still return it. Would you return it? I think I have the right to keep it, but she's making me feel some type of way about it.

@Blue_Collar_Dog @simonmaechling Your car is supposed to have a closed loop radiator. Despite this, every now and then radiator fluid has to be added. Leaks occur in the best closed loop system, at some point, it is more cost effective to add water verses making a loop completely closed.

Data centres don’t “burn” water. They obey the Second Law of Thermodynamics. A high-energy system generates heat. That heat has to go somewhere. Water is simply one of the most efficient ways to move it. And the water itself is not destroyed. It returns to the water cycle.
Jenni@hashjenni

Can’t wrap my head around why AI data centers need fresh water. Not recycled, not wastewater. Fresh, drinkable water, burned through by the millions of gallons just to keep servers cool. Why are we using a basic human necessity to prop up machines?

@BrutalAsBucs @EdgeCrusher14 Home prices are not going to go down. Neither is rent. At least with a mortgage, you are fixing your payment for several years. As far as upkeep, do as much as you yourself. Learn plumbing repairs, get a ladder for going up on the roof. Do your own painting.

I don’t understand why every vehicle isn’t a hybrid. Why not use regenerative braking to charge a battery in every car? Huge increase in gas mileage. Why do they still make non-hybrids?
