Top startups are starting to do 6 days a week in the office. Could not have predicted this a few years ago.

@austin_rief Just wait until the CEO/PM can build half of the product or more without engineers. Straight to the moon!

I went to a dinner with 30 top AI founders last week. My 2 biggest takeaways: 1. What used to take a year and 10 engineers to build now takes 3 months and 5 engineers 2. AI web builder tools allow CEOs be the only PM at a company way longer.

@GeoffLewisOrg I disagree… no research that I can point to, but I’ve seen three founder do very well, especially if the CEO is strong

Solo founder startups are systematically underrated. 2 founder startups are good. However, in majority case, more than 2 co-founders leads over time to intra-team conflict which leads over more time to decaying velocity and culture.

@sweatystartup Completely disagree! There is more to life than just your career. Traveling to see the world and meeting folks from other countries will give you a strong foundation and different perspective to life

Going to travel to Thailand for 3 months on a sabbatical from work as a single 25 year old is a horrific idea. Should be in your town looking for a spouse and building your career or business. Traveling is a great way to build bad habits and then next thing you know you’re 35 and a hippy.

@Samirkaji Smart Seed GPs have been playing the secondary game for a while now. We are fortunate that because we are not lead investors in early and later stage round we can liquidate with generating a negative signal. LPs are definitely benefiting from this relatively new trend.

In 3-5 years, seed funds will generate the majority of liquidity through downstream sponsors or other GP led secondaries. The IPO bar is too high, and not interesting for most companies when private markets are so large. The 10 year model doesn't work and is far too antiquated - Needs a stronger structured liquidity market.

@RnaudBertrand Agreed! Closing our gates to brilliant international students ain’t the way to go. Helping create their next company in the US instead of in China is!

I conducted an independent analysis that predicted there would be no famine in Gaza. At the time, my analysis went against the entirety of the international community, the UN, NGOs, even the IPC that claimed otherwise. After months of being gaslit with doomsday level claims and how I would be proven wrong because all the experts are against my assessment, the Famine Review Committee (FRC) is now finally acknowledging they can't endorse the conclusions of famine as plausible, and are even making the very same criticisms I have pointed out of the previous reports for months now. Let's go over the details. Thread 🧵

The House, likely by subpoena, learned that @Harvard ignored and never implemented the recommendations of the antisemitism working group that was formed by former President Gay. While not shocking in light of Harvard’s conduct to date, this is yet another embarrassment to the University. Harvard is a case study in governance and moral failure. It is sad how far it has fallen.
House Committee on Education & Workforce@EdWorkforceCmte

.@EdWorkforceCmte released a report, detailing findings on its investigation into antisemitism at Harvard. Harvard leaders ignored & never implemented recommendations from its Antisemitism Advisory Group (AAG) to address rampant antisemitism on its campus. edworkforce.house.gov/news/documents…

John Spencer, expert in urban warfare, explains to Sam Harris what was unique about the October 7 footage. First, Hamas members were absolutely euophoric as they were going off to rape and murder. As someone who has led men into battle, he tells us that “this is not normal”. Most striking was the reaction to the sound of a young boy moaning to death. In a normal battlefield situation, even when there is an enemy combatant, there is usually an instinct to render aid. Here, a boy’s eyes were gone, his father just killed, and the Hamas fighter nonchalantly goes and grabs a beverage from the refrigerator. This war has clarified so much for me. I keep talking about why Hamas is worse than Nazis, and the moral culpability of Palestinian civilians. People don’t like these opinions. They still remain true. If you have a position on this conflict other than “Israel keeps going until Hamas is destroyed” you have failed one of the great moral tests of our time.

In light of @penn releasing their first statement in 11 days, I would like to provide a thread as to the level of danger students are subjected to. Considering what is below, you'd think @penn would do something. Here are just but a few of the documented cases 🧵

Israel has done more to prevent civilian casualties in war than any military in history — above & beyond what international law requires & more than the US did in its wars in Iraq & Afghanistan -- setting a standard that will be both hard & potentially problematic to repeat. 🧵

This what's happening at @Columbia right now. I know it's confusing, so let me spell it out for you: (a) Terrorism is an ideology. (b) They are openly supporting terror. (c) They are terrorists. Terrorists have taken over Columbia University. The government needs to take over @Columbia. This is important. Repost if you agree. (videos below)

.@HarvardChabad and the Israeli Ambassador to the UN are hosting a showing of the Hamas GoPro documentation of the atrocities of October 7th on the @Harvard campus, Monday, December 4th at 6pm. I encourage the Harvard President, the Harvard administration, the faculty, and students to attend. In life, there are moments where we are called upon to bear witness and deeply contemplate our history, our humanity, and the implications for our future. This is one of them. I will be there.

I used to think the tax incentives in real estate were unparalleled But my mind was just blown after learning about the economics of investing in solar projects 🤯 Probably the best tax saver out there for anyone with a high W-2 or business owner income Here's how it works:

Still think the answer lies in the data. For example, if we had data that said something like “90% of all successful startups received their first VC check from a smaller/emerging VC, and not a huge mega fund,” wouldn’t that change conventional LP thinking?

According to @PitchBook 62% of the capital this year has gone to 6% of VC funds. The “Great Divide” continues as smaller funds getting left behind despite stronger performance. Smh. Where are all the courageous LPs?
