@feliz_navidi He might try to deliberately recreate the conditions for Desert One. We are gonna get Desert Two through Six into the history books if he does this.

It would probably be one of the most genuinely insane military operations in history, pure Hollywood stuff. I count that as a major factor for why Trump might actually order it to commence

@jameszimmermann I much prefer when musicians just aren't paid, so at least their starving artist angst can be honestly earned while retaining their aesthetic integrity. This thing where artists get paid, while also lamenting how low brow said sources of payment are, is tiring.

Movie concerts are cash cows so orchestras can’t say no to them. Musicians found them fun at first, but once novelty became the norm it got pretty demoralizing: The concerts are long, you’re not the main attraction, and most people leave during the credits. Lowbrow stuff.

Acquaintance in Pittsburgh Symphony Orch told me they played almost 20 movie music concert weeks this year and only 15-18 weeks of heavy meat and potatoes classical. I’ve heard of this situation for several orchestras now.

@MattWelch Voters do not want Congress to wield authority At best they want their representative, followed by their majority, to govern without compromise (fairy land bullshit)

"My argument at this point is that Congress more or less doesn’t exist, except as a social media operation. The institution has abandoned itself. The executive branch runs the country, with the judicial branch throwing down random speed bumps, because the legislative branch has no role it wishes to perform." chrisbray.substack.com/p/the-end-of-p…

BREAKING: The Tenth Angel, Sahaquiel, has just appeared over New York City Reached for comment, Mayor Mamdani had this to say: “A strong AT Field is developed in a child’s most formative years, which is why I’m pleased to announce: Free childcare for all NERV employees.”

@trouble_man90 This discourse is always pointless. If Hasan was on fire I wouldn't piss on him to put it out. If this makes *certain people* mad they can be mad about it. They're not going to vote anyways, nothing I can do about it.

It’s perfectly reasonable for democrats to not want to associate with a guy who said “America deserved 9/11”, who didn’t endorse Biden, didn’t endorse Harris, and said “Harris and trump are the same”. Why would Democrats enthusiastically embrace someone like that?

Both perspectives are problematic. Papperger was dismissive and ill informed. The fetishization of drones is also unhelpful. The 'big stuff obsolete' crowd is wrong in theory, plus ill informed on recent developments that are helping return mobility to the battlefield.
Rob Lee@RALee85

Papperger's comments were rightfully criticized, but the argument that artillery and tanks are obsolete also isn't accurate. Ukrainian PzH 2000 and Leopard tank crews praise both systems, and feedback for Rheinmetall's Skynex has also been positive.
