The @EarthshotPrize is teaming up with UN Global Compact, EU4Algae, and the Monaco Oceanographic Institute to make The Global Seaweed Coalition. Together, they’re driving change and securing concrete actions for a brighter, sustainable future for our oceans.

@KateRaworth Wouldn’t that be great. I fear we are always from the bold political leadership required to make the fundamental changes required.. but I look forward to this day.

I gave Keir Starmer a copy of Doughnut Economics just 10 days before he became Labour Party Leader. So will the book make it onto his bookshelves in Number 10? More importantly: will policies for a regenerative & distributive UK become real under this government?...

When you tune into plastic, it is all you can see. It is quite horrifying when we remember it doesn't degrade; it just accumulates—the chair I am sitting on, the laptop keys I am touching, and the clothes I am wearing. In fact, you and I cause the production of an average of 28kgs per year of new plastic. But it is hard to imagine it going away. Removing plastic, in many cases, means worse, more expensive products. In addition to alternative products (which are also coming online quickly), we need a way to re-mine the millions of tonnes we have already produced and not to make more from fossil fuels. That's why we are so proud of @samsara_eco - it is the undo button for plastics. At @MSeqVC we are thrilled to have @Temasek @hitachi @TitaniumVC @WollemiCapital and @lululemon join us to bring this planetary solution online quickly.
Main Sequence@MSeqVC

In one of Australia's biggest Series A investments into #Envirotech, @samsara_eco has secured AU$100M in a Series A+ funding round. 👏 On a mission to eliminate plastic waste, the funding will help build the company's global recycling capabilities & divert millions of tonnes of plastics from landfills & incineration. Their plastic-enzyme-eating tech not only gives a second life to plastic waste but also reduces the planet’s #CarbonFootprint. As one of our first #VentureScience companies, we’re steadfast believers in their vision, and we’re proud to back the company once again as it continues to grow. Big congrats team! Learn more. 👇

I spoke with Sea Forest founder and CEO @SamElsom_, on a recent visit to Tasmania. This is an innovative Australian business, with Sam and his team doing world leading work, by using seaweed to reduce methane emissions from livestock.
