It's really very simple. In recent history Scotland has been heading towards the Scandinavian model of society and England towards the US. We can see that in the NHS, ScotGov policies, civil rights and other areas. The only logical outcome is #ScottishIndependence

⚡️💸 Scotland is a net exporter of electricity, yet households here are hit with some of the highest standing charges in the UK. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland’s energy must be in Scotland’s hands, and that can only happen with independence. #BothVotesSNP

On day one of a new SNP government, I will demand powers over energy to be transferred to the Scottish Parliament - so we can cut bills, protect jobs and unlock investment. If Westminster will not bring your bills down, they should get out of the way for a government that will.

The Highlands consistently with zero carbon intensity for its electricity generation, but the price of its electricity still set by gas generation (it's also a major net exporter of both electricity and gas). 🤷‍♂️

Labour waved through projects in England, but blocks £1.5bn of investment in renewables and 1,500 jobs in the Highlands. Grangemouth. Mossmorran. Offshore jobs. Now Ardersier. Scotland is an afterthought to Westminster. We need a fresh start with independence.

When I started campaigning for independence as a teenager, it seemed like a distant dream. Now it is there to be won - and it's up to all of us to finish the job. Join me at the march and rally for independence this Saturday, from 11.30AM at Parliament Square in Edinburgh.

Today's statement from the Chancellor fell far short of what Scotland's families needed. With bills estimated to rise by over £300 from July, we need to see the energy price cap frozen. In energy-rich Scotland, it's simply unacceptable that people's bills are through the roof.

Tesco are making £4bn a year in profit. About 50% of their staff are on Universal Credit. Why don't we crackdown on this unneeded benefit for billionaires?

Spain just boasted that because of their investment in renewable energy last week a mega watt hour of electricity just cost €14.Scotland also invested in renewable energy, but last week it cost us €158 for a MWH of electricity. That's because Westminster set our energy policies

The Sunday Show is asking why electricity prices in Scotland are still high despite Scotland generating over one hundred percent of its electricity through renewables. The answer is that Scotland is tied to a UK market where England needs gas to generate electricity.

Scotland is rich in energy, so why do we pay some of the highest bills in Europe? Because we don’t control our own energy resources. Independence is how we can lower bills and ensure our energy wealth works in the interests of Scotland - not Westminster.

Margaret Thatcher sold off the North Sea, Instead of building a sovereign wealth fund like Norges Bank Investment Management for Norwegian Government Pension Fund Global. Today Norway sits on a $1.5 trillion fund. Britain sits on immense debt. One country invested its natural wealth. The other liquidated parts of it.

The situation the Royal Navy now finds itself in, has been inevitable for over two decades: First, in 2004, Geoff Hoon sold three almost new Type 23 Frigates to Chile. Reducing the fleet to 13 Then, in 2008, Bob Ainsworth cancelled the seventh and eighth Type 45 (down from 12)

The next time ferries are mentioned remember WM's Type 45 Destroyers. Original 1999 contract. £6 billion for 12 ships. Result: £6.46 billion for 6 ships. Planned completion date 2007. Completed 2014. Currently only 3 of the ships are operational. @UKLabour @LibDems FIO @theSNP
