Energy security and Scotland's abundance of it (both traditional and renewable) should not only be protecting us, but also enriching us, offsetting the supply side (inflation) shocks globally. We should be a haven of stability (energywise) in an unstable world.

@FormerylNurgle Scotland already produces more than it needs already. Any attack on the electricity grid will likely be cyber initiated (Chinese components in absolutely everything). It's to stop a factory building them here, nothing stopping a company installing them.

On what basis is a Chinese wind turbine made in Scotland more of a security threat than millions of cars, phones, tv's, Internet routers etc that are actually made in China?

£1.5 billion and 1500 jobs in the Highlands would have had a significant impact on the Highland economy.

@jazzyrussell59 @msm_monitor @TPRSCOT With average wind speeds in Scotland over 6m/s (see power curve below & exponential increase in output), why build them anywhere else, unless politically motivated and therefore targeted to directly undermine the Scottish economy.

@msm_monitor @TPRSCOT Because it would compete with English wind turbine factories in Teeside, Hull and Newcastle all of which got lots of English government money. Scotland gets the wind farms,N. England gets the manufacturing, London gets the money and AI data centres in England get the electricity

A military guest invited onto Radio Scotland has compared a planned £1.5bn wind turbine investment in Scotland by China [Now blocked by Labour] to employing a paedophile as a school teacher.

@ScotNational Just like Labour rejected Zonal Pricing for Scotland. They knew businesses and investment would flock there, and they couldn't have that Everything for England Nothing for Scotland

Does having a £1.5bn Chinese wind turbine factory in Scotland make Scotland more or less likely to be attacked by China or even Russia (pissing off the Chinese)?

Funny how CHINESE INVESTMENT/PROJECTS IN ENGLAND ARE REPORTED AS 'GOOD THINGS'. BUT CHINESE INVESTMENTS/PROJECTS IN SCOTLAND ARE DEEMED 'BAD THINGS' AND ARE BLOCKED BY WM.

If you vote Labour you are actively supporting a party that is working against Scotland. Blocking investment and jobs, allowing industries to close etc. From Grangemouth, to Mossmorran, Edinburghs supercomputer and others. Any other country this would cause outrage.
Ewan Gibbs@ewangibbs

The wildest thing about the UK government blocking a large Chinese owned wind turbine factory in the Highlands is that it’ll mean importing wind turbines from China instead of making them here!

This was yesterday afternoon not long after news that the UK Labour Govt had blocked £1.5bn of investment by China. The story was already sliding down the BBC Scotland news agenda. It's last now. Make no mistake, what we're seeing here is suppression of news that damages Labour.

Allowing people in the UK to buy literally millions of Chinese-made internet-connected devices - phones, tablets, laptops, smart TVs etc - & then refusing permission for a Chinese wind turbine factory on 'security' grounds suggests you are either disingenuous or can't assess risk
