There are so many conkers this year that we just had to make conker comets!☄️
The children used palm drills and conker clamps to make them…it’s amazing how far they go! #conkerclamps #forestschool #outdooreducation

In #BaderScience year 1 have been learning to identify trees. Today in outdoor Ed they classified leaves based on whether the tree was deciduous or evergreen. #RRSarticle24 @ScoutedSam

First session with Y3/4 @simonsideschool this year! Using keys to help identify trees as part of their ‘Living things and their Habitats’ topic🌳🍃 #science

@ScoutedSam For me the key would be in the question - cover differences (land development, management, commercial) AND anthropogenic influences - as well as BRIEFLY covering the basics on the C cycle (short/long timescales etc). Focus upon the question. Tough one. Good luck....

@EdadventuresM @OutdoorEdChat I think there’s too much time spent on things like woodland management that isn’t relevant, RAs (that schools have plenty of experience doing) etc. IMO more time should be spent sharing activity ideas, tree ID and practicing delivery 🍁🔥
English

@ScoutedSam @OutdoorEdChat I actually 100% agree & in this case I am very concerned tbh. It can’t make you competent in the amount of time and input it takes imo.
English

@OutdoorEdChat I have been asked this question & putting it to you guys …. “What would you do if someone was going to lead on FS or OL in a sch & they are just not competent, only just done FS training & very unsure & lacks confidence in simple things like hammocks, fire & knots
