@Kronykal Except this proposed law as described in the headline already exists in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) under the moral turpitude definition. why do we need this new bill that broadens the language such that victims of abuse could be deported? better question imo.

Our perspective: Under Trump many of us will absolutely have to flee the USA (those of us that live here). There will be no safety net in the guise of "law" under Trump because he will circumvent the law to conform to how he wants to mold the USA. Under Harris, we can continue speaking out and keep trying to make the USA better but the world better too. Think of it this way: Harris won't put us in jail for burning the American Flag (protected under the first amendment even if you think it's wrong - it's a great example) but Trump has already pushed for that to happen (he wants to jail or revoke citizenship for people who desecrate the flag). While we certainly do not agree with Kamala on everything, she is the only candidate that will preserve what is left of a crumbling democracy. It is up to all of us, the people to move society forward - to progress. We cannot progress under a dictatorship or authoritarian rule. Kamala doesn't want to restrict the rights of who people choose to love, Trump does. Kamala doesn't want to install loyalists in all levels of government - Trump does. We will fight tooth and nail to prevent the USA from becoming a fascist theocratic authoritarian dictatorship. We've seen way too many people like Trump dismantle their societies and kill democracy. From Muhammad Hosni El Sayed Mubarak who was in power for 30 years as he pushed an unfair distribution of wealth, corruption, and let his citizens rot, to Kim Jong Un who starves his people to death - we've always fought against all tyrants. Donald Trump is no different.

The TIME magazine covers they both deserve. HER moment is NOW-providing an optimistic vision for the future, building up the middle class, while making the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share. HIS moment is OVER-delivering insult-filled, policy-free rants praising dictators & "the late, great Hannibal Lecter", claiming windmills cause cancer & kill birds, declaring we are a "failing 3rd-World nation" & that he's "better looking" than she is. OUR moment is NOVEMBER 5th. The choice is clear: VOTE #HarrisWalzToSaveDemocracy 🇺🇸

@JackRhysider There's not many left like you Jack, but I always love that you openly and honestly share perspectives like this as I think it helps to inspire others to, at the very least, take pause and reflect. It sure does for me. Thanks for all you do.

In year 1 of my podcast I was told a story that broke my brain for a year. A 17 year old kid told me about all this illegal stuff he did. It was by far the most insane story I've ever heard. I have something like 12 hours of recordings with him over the course of months. I've never spoken to anyone that long. There's no certification in journalism. No how-to on podcasting ethics. I wasn't ready for this kind of story. 1. Don't I need his parents permission to post his interview? 2. His story is impossible to verify. 3. He got away with it. Would telling his story romanticize cyber crime? I took long walks contemplating all this. Calling up every journalist I knew asking them for advice. I loved the story so much, it's still the most insane story I've ever been told. So I really want to tell you. But I toiled over this for a whole year. Eventually I decided some ground rules: - I won't bring minors on the show without their parent's permission. - I absolutely have to verify stories. This ain't no conspiracy theory podcast. - I feel like I have a moral responsibility to tell stories that don't romanticize crime. I bring this up now because of a few things I saw this week. First is this phone recording with a young teenage crypto scammer. x.com/verysmallclaim… Second is the Andrew Callahan video interviewing underage Kia Boys stealing cars. youtube.com/watch?v=DJA7jD… Posts like these are very sensational. They make big news. People are shocked by what teenagers are doing. But they break 2 or 3 of my rules! And it's strange seeing this stuff. Hell I think that scammer call was in California where it's a 2 party consent state, and I listened to the whole call and at no point did the scammer consent to a recording. I'm talking to teenage criminals on a weekly basis. I've had that same call I posted above a half dozen times at this point. We have long chats, calls. It's down right weird, and often creepy. I love learning about their world, it's amazing and incredible. But I can't publish their stories directly, because of my made up ethics. What a weird job this is.

Joe Biden gave a press conference after his meeting with China’s Xi Jinping. He was knowledgeable, calm, articulate, and presidential. That’s what we need in the White House. Not a bloviating miscreant, not a malignant narcissist, not a would-be despot who wants to round up his political enemies and destroy our democracy.

Reality check: if you're comparing the loss of civilian life in WWII to the loss of civilian life in modern conflict, you're being disingenuous at best, straight up manipulative at worst.

I'm pretty sure the next 2 episodes of Darknet Diaries will be movies one day. They are both off the rails insane. I'm not a movie maker though, so don't ask me to make it.
