It was a privilege to highlight Richard Gudis’ generosity and service to our military families as he was recognized with the Fisher Foundation’s Distinguished Civilian Humanitarian Award. His dedication is a powerful reminder that patriotism extends beyond the battlefield, found in the quiet support of our heroes at home.

.@POTUS has been clear: America will dominate the seas. The @USNavy and @USMC deliver the combat power that deters our enemies, protects our way of life, and secures the homeland. Adm. Caudle, Gen. Smith, and I recognize that the heart of our naval force is not found in the Pentagon, it starts at home - it is in the family and friends who support them. Our Nation's safety, prosperity, and the values we hold dear are upheld by the strength of our military families. Thank you for standing behind our warfighters.

We mourn the six U.S. Airmen who gave their lives in service to our Nation. They answered the call without hesitation, took to the skies in defense of freedom, and stood the watch for all of us. The Department of the Navy stands shoulder to shoulder with the @USAirForce and the entire Joint Force in grief and in gratitude. Their courage will not be forgotten. Their sacrifice will be honored in the strength and readiness we carry forward every day. God bless our fallen. God bless their families. God Bless the United States of America, and our joint force that defend her.

Across the globe, every minute of every day, the @USNavy-@USMC team is protecting the American way of life.   The tenacity, grit, and determination of our Sailors aboard @CVN78_GRFord and @CVN_72 were emphasized this morning by @thejointstaff Gen. Dan Caine. These men and women serve an integral role within @CENTCOM’s joint force, standing side by side to form the shield that guards the homeland.

Today, we mourn the loss of six United States Servicemembers who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our Nation. These brave Americans answered the call without hesitation. They stood the watch on behalf of the American people and our way of life. The Department of the Navy stands shoulder to shoulder with our brothers and sisters of the @USArmy and the entire Joint Force as we grieve this loss and honor their courage. We will never forget their service. We will honor their sacrifice not only in words, but in our continued commitment to readiness, strength, and the defense of this great Nation. My message to the Joint Force.

Over the past few months I've had the profound honor getting to know Captain E. Royce Williams, a Naval Aviator whose extraordinary bravery on November 18, 1952, saved the lives of thousands of Americans. Much of what occurred that day remained classified for decades. But what never changed was the fact that Williams acted fiercely at the risk of his life, above and beyond the call of duty. Captain Williams, on behalf of the Department of the Navy and a grateful Nation, thank you for your courage, your skill, and your unwavering devotion to duty.

At the State of the Union, @POTUS recognized a true @USNavy legend with the Medal of Honor — Captain E. Royce Williams, a Naval Aviator whose courage, skill, and quiet professionalism represent the very best of our Navy - not one act of incredible heroism, but a lifetime of service.

From @Austal_USA to @BollingerShip, CNO, CMC, and I recently toured and saw firsthand how American workers are turning steel into capability. These yards are critical to enhancing readiness for our @USNavy and @USMC. Maritime industrial strength is national security.
