"Today my daughter changed her profile picture. After maybe 5 minutes I get a text ..” I didn’t know she was dating a black boy, did you?”
It took me all day to think up a response, which I didn’t send personally but thought I would share for anyone else that “may not know”
Yes in fact I did know, but the color of his skin doesn’t define who he is. What does define who is he is how he treats my daughter.
I see my daughter dating a boy that comes to my house and shows me nothing but respect (a big deal in my book). It’s always Yes Ma’am, No Ma’am, we talk about football and baseball, he tells me bye when he leaves, and has not once shown me a lack of manners or respect.
I see my daughter dating a boy who treats her good. He takes her on dates, to ballgames, out to eat..not to a club or partying on the weekends.
I see my daughter dating a boy who takes her to church with him. Every Sunday. He plays in the band, she sits with his family. How many young men these days make church a priority? None of the others have.
He doesn’t hit her, cuss her, lie to her, or make her cry. Would I rather her date a white boy that did, to keep from her dating another race? Absolutely not.
So that’s my response to the question I was asked. And I know people have their own opinion, but at the end of the day, the fact that my daughter has someone that loves her and treats her like a queen makes me happy. That’s something I’ve never had in my life and I’m glad she does."

@CrazyVibes_1 Not to call my mom, who lives alone for 3 days??? And remember about her only after the words of a neighbor. I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you're proud of. The neighbors are more attentive to your mother than you are. You should be ashamed of yourself.
English

My mom is 70. Lives alone. Neighbor came over last week. Said “Your mom okay? I haven’t seen her in days.” I went to check. Found her on the floor. Fell. Couldn’t get up. Been there three days. Dehydrated. Scared. Alone. I asked why she didn’t call. She said “My phone was on the table. I couldn’t reach it.” The neighbor said “I should’ve checked sooner. I’m sorry.” Got mom to the hospital. She recovered. The neighbor visited every day. Brought flowers. Sat with her. When mom came home the neighbor said “I’m checking on you daily now. Whether you like it or not.” Every morning. 9 AM. Knocks on the door. Makes sure mom’s okay. Brings her coffee. Talks. Cares. Mom’s not alone anymore. Because a neighbor paid attention. Noticed an absence. Checked. I thanked her. She said “That’s what neighbors do. We look out for each other.” I think about those three days. Mom on the floor. Nobody coming. I think about what would’ve happened. Without this neighbor. Who noticed. Who cared. Sometimes being saved looks like someone knocking on your door.

This is SCABIES.
It is a skin infestation caused by a microscopic mite, Sarcoptes scabiei, that burrows silently into the outer layers of human skin, laying eggs and triggering an immune reaction that produces its hallmark symptom, an intense itch that worsens dramatically at night. It is one of the most common skin conditions on earth.
The mite spreads almost entirely through prolonged, direct skin contact with an infected person, meaning it passes readily between family members, sexual partners, and people in crowded settings like nursing homes, schools, and prisons. Unlike popular belief, casual brushing of hands rarely transmits it. Shared clothing or bedding can occasionally carry the mite, but skin contact remains the dominant route.
Diagnosis relies on identifying the mite's characteristic burrows, tiny raised lines on the skin, confirmed by a skin scraping under a microscope or a handheld magnifying tool called a dermoscope.
Treatment involves applying a cream called permethrin across the entire body overnight. When that fails, or in severe cases, a single oral dose of ivermectin is used instead. Alternatives include benzyl benzoate and sulfur preparations. When topical treatment fails, or in severe cases of crusted scabies, an oral medication called ivermectin is recommended.
Itching is managed with antihistamines and mild steroid creams, and all close contacts must be treated at the same time to prevent reinfestation.

Two nights ago I was involved in a bad car accident and am currently hospitalized with a spinal fracture. I hear the car is split in half but thankfully I’m still here. Please keep me in your prayers as I move forward from here

Government should order all people who are intending to get married to do a "Stress Test" . It's actually affordable @NuvivaLab. Why destroy utensils because of a marital misunderstanding!!!

This morning, I joined the family, Orthodox Church community, honourable colleagues, and friends at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Namungoona, for the memorial service of the late Hon. Hellen Nakimuli.
As we continue to mourn her passing, we should draw lessons from the leadership values she espoused. For her, leadership was less about disagreements, numbers, or political wins; it was about purpose, integrity, and service.
Hon. Nakimuli stood firm for her people, spoke with conviction, and always sought solutions over conflict. Even in moments where many would choose confrontation, she chose dialogue, reform and unity.
I thanked her father, whose guidance and devotion to faith shaped a daughter of strong conviction, humility and compassion. It was from her upbringing rooted in faith that in Parliament, she was a person who did not judge others by their colour, tribe, or political affiliation.
On behalf of the Government, I pledged to the Orthodox Church that we will always stand with them. We will continue to seek spiritual guidance from the Church and our doors will always remain open.
The greatest honour we can give Hon. Nakimuli is to embrace a politics of respect, unity, and service to our people.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.

This brave, resilient, and intelligent young girl is called Angel Blessings Atuhaire. She is 14 years old and currently a Primary Seven pupil at Kengoma Day Primary School in Kabale District.
I have just spoken to her and her father, Mr. Nfitumukiza Moses, a boda boda rider in Kabale.
Blessings has consistently excelled in her academics and has never performed below the third position in her class.
Her father shared that he is not comfortable with her riding herself to school, but the circumstances have left him with no alternative as he leaves home too early to drop the girl at school . He was all emotional on the phone in disbelief if this was true or a dream.
I discussed with both of them the possibility of moving her to a boarding school next term or waiting until she joins secondary school. They both agreed that transitioning next term would be the best option, especially since she has not yet registered for PLE at her current school.
I advised the father to identify a good boarding primary school within their locality and connect me to the school administration so that the sponsor, @SheilahGashumba, can take it up from there.
I have shared all the details with Sheilah. 🙏

Oh Lord forgive us all, I haven’t cried so much in a while and today is been so hard to deal with.
Father God,
our hearts are heavy.
We come before You with pain, with sorrow,
lifting up every family affected by this tragedy.
Lord… only You understand this kind of loss.
Only You can reach the depths of this grief.
Father, we ask for Your comfort.
Corinthians 1:3–4
You are the God of all comfort…
Comfort every mother.
Comfort every father.
Comfort every family member whose heart is broken today.
Wrap them in Your presence.
Hold them in their pain.
Lord, where there are no words…
be their peace.
Where there is confusion…
be their understanding.
Where there is deep sorrow…
be their strength.
In Jesus name, Amen 🙏🏾
