Prosecutors say Cody Henderson left Rip and Boomer in a parked, switched-off Chevy Tahoe for about 7 hours on May 29, windows closed, no heat alarm triggered. Indoor kennels were right there in the courthouse and went unused. A necropsy found both dogs likely died of heat stroke. Henderson's on unpaid leave and due in court July 30.
