HAVE YOU HEARD? Renowned former 'Have You Heard?' columnist and professional tremor of social circles, @TBukumunhe, is set to descend on @HotelAfricana this Friday for the @SmackObs Dinner, and yes, this is bigger than the dessert menu. The man who once made half of Kampala sit up straighter in the club “just in case TB is somewhere in the corner” has confirmed he will be in the building – but this time, he insists, he comes in peace. For once, it is not TB smoking people out of hiding; it is one of his SMACKIST friends smoking him out of his weekend comfort and dragging him to Kisubi territory downtown. Bukumunhe’s attendance is being blamed on two tight @smackists who refused to take no for an answer, plus the irresistible pull of media darlings @kasyate and @CrystalANewman . Somewhere between nostalgia, curiosity and mild mischief, #TB has decided to cross over and, for one night only, be a 'Weevil'. The only unresolved matter is administrative: if he is crashing the Old Boys’ party, which House should claim him? Early betting points to #LourdelHouse. With his sharp eye, sharper pen and long memory of who wore what, arrived with whom and left looking suspiciously happier than they arrived, he has all the makings of classic @HMV_SMACK. If he behaves, he will be applauded as an honorary SMACKIST (take note Mr. President @rbaguma608 ). If he misbehaves, there is always Ground for quick rehabilitation (not at Mama Teo's though), and @odagacharles can take care of that. For now, #SMACKISTS are being assured they will not feature in any Saturday “Have You Heard?” @newvisionwire column – at least not officially. #Bukumunhe says he is coming to watch how SMACK men do their thing, not to document every badly tied bow tie and ambitious #Jaba dance move. That, of course, depends on how the night goes. What is certain is this: when the story of the night TB became a SMACKIST is told, it will not be kind to those who stayed home.
