Years of applying for jobs after the financial crisis (and recruitment now is a dehumanising exercise devised by Kafka himself) means I have zero faith that common sense will prevail.

The minimum requirements for a job are two GCSEs, you must bring proof of your qualifications if you get selected for interview, but all I can find are a degree, three A levels and (literally) 1.5 GCSEs. RE was a short course.

Last day of 14 straight at work, and 76 hours last week. I have kept sane by not listening to the news or reading twitter, and apart from being tired, I'm not feeling like total shit?

@HSouthwellFE Same. I wanted to do marine biology but my dad said that was unrealistic with no jobs. So I suggested I become a mechanic like him but he said I could do better. School said any degree would guarantee jobs. Then recession. Just don't say OK boomer cos they get mad.

Linked my phone to the fire truck so now I can do circuit set-up whilst listening to Hole.

Seven years doing BSB at Cadwell Park and the number of girls at the circuit has noticeably increased. Tiny ones on balance bikes, teens asking questions at the fan forums. Makes me happy.

Forgot I was running a bath because I started watching Blondie videos and now it is exactly FULL

I don't think there's a maintenance team that works harder than ours. Andy, Ben, Charlie, Pete, Brad and Matt, plus all the other members of staff that have chipped in with painting, cleaning and all the rest. Very long nights. So much respect for their work ethic. 👌
