So, finally, Argentina wins 8-0. It was a systematic demolition. Will take a bit of time to swallow this. From the moment, India missed the penalty stroke at the start, things just crumbled. It usually happens if you fail to take the psychological high ground early, the ground kind of slides away under you. It’s also a brutal reminder that ‘experience’ can’t be manufactured. Still, the team had enough character to understand what was required after Argentina had gone 2-0 up. That never happened. If a reality check was coming, better it happens in a Pro League fixture in February than in the knockout stages of the World Cup or the Asian Games. Also, there is a difference between talent and temperament. It will be interesting to figure what Craig Fulton will tell the boys - the locker-room analysis. There will be strong words.
