After looking back at the god awful Kermit dress, I think we need an appreciation post for just HOW truly terrible it was. The shoulders and back gapped in some spots, bunched up in others. The front was SO tight you could see the distinct outline of her strapless (why?) bra that also didn’t fit properly, showing us once again she has no idea what wearing the correct undergarments means. It was wrinkled AF which at this point seems to be a requirement and the hat looks like a big green gumdrop-while the shoes are fine, the color is not. She had a Kermit green dress, hat, bag-and beige shoes?? It’s a no for me, dawg. Her bag and shoes should have matched. If she had a beige bag maybe it wouldn’t have been so awful but beige was a bad choice. This dress was a wonder-simultaneously being too tight and too loose which is a feat in craftsmanship. The strapless bra that was way too tight was a nice touch, being one of the first things you could see. It’s a mystery as to why she’d wear a strapless bra in the first place with this dress but boy, are we glad she did because it gives the look that certain oomph, that je ne sais quoi. #MeghanMarkle clearly wanted to make a statement with this outfit, and she did. @heartsabustin @JennMGreenberg The New World Translation, which is used by JWs and is what I grew up reading, says "when he was with her." I was stunned when I read other versions. Needless to say, I left the organization.

@JennMGreenberg @ThinkerAtLarge Exactly. Adam sinned willfully, which is much more a flagrant transgression than being tricked. If you read the entire Book of Revelation and then start off with Genesis again, a lot more will add up to Adam's culpability as an actual villain.

@ThinkerAtLarge Paul agrees with you. Adam knowingly rebelled against God and let Satan trick Eve. Eve was “deceived,” and the text in Genesis indicates she genuinely believed the fruit would make her wise. It’s tragic really.

@jeremylatzke @elonfangirl2 You did misunderstand because I am saying that they would not be "horrified" because they were godly people and knew that marital sex is normal, healthy, and nothing to be ashamed of, and they would clear up misunderstands in order to have God's purpose properly viewed today.

I’m pretty sure Mary and Joseph would be horrified and appalled about the fact that people have heated, regular debates centered around what they did or did not do as a married couple.

@SlowToWrite The same is true for formerly promiscuous men, as long as they have truly repented. Male practitioners of fornication are just as damaged as are females. A high body count for a man is as sinful as for a female, unless and until they repent. Then both are equally forgiven.

If you are a single Christian woman who used to be promiscuous, do not be discouraged. You are not damaged goods. Jesus has turned your ashes into a crown of beauty and transformed your promiscuity into purity.

@jeremylatzke @elonfangirl2 You misunderstood. Some sects claim that Ann, her mother, was also an eternal virgin, and that Mary was also conceived immaculately. Merely stating that they enjoyed all aspects of their marriage and conceived children would not horrify them because sex in marriage is not dirty.

That so much literal and digital ink continues to be spilled about what she and her husband did or didn't do after that would horrify them. Even if we think it's important.

@RealTraderJill As Paul himself stated at 1 Cor. 7:25 & 26, a lot of his counsel was personal advice, not commandments from Jesus. Even head coverings were in deference to local, first century customs, not to be construed as eternal and universal. Common sense based on Scriptural principles.

Hey fellas, quick word from your friendly neighborhood Bible nerd: Can we stop weaponizing Paul’s “women should be silent” line like it’s the only verse he ever wrote? You’re quoting 1 Timothy 2:12 and 1 Corinthians 14:34 like Paul handed you a divine remote control for muting women in church. Spoiler: Context is king. Ephesus was a hot mess of false teachers and temple priestesses causing chaos. Paul was shutting down specific disruptive behavior in that church, not issuing a forever gag order. (Meanwhile, in 1 Corinthians 11 he’s totally cool with women prophesying and praying in church… with a head covering. Pick a lane, bros!) But let’s talk REAL Bible examples where women straight-up taught men and led the show: • Priscilla (with her husband Aquila) pulled Apollos aside and explained “the way of God more accurately” to him. A woman co-teaching theology to a dude who was already preaching Jesus? Iconic. (Acts 18:24-26) • Deborah was a judge, prophetess, and military leader over ALL of Israel. She literally told Barak, “I’ll go with you, but the glory won’t be yours.” Mic drop. (Judges 4-5) • Phoebe was a deacon and benefactor Paul trusted to deliver his letter to Rome. Not exactly “silent in the back pew.” (Romans 16:1-2) And Jesus? He was the ultimate women-reverer: • First person He ever revealed He was the Messiah to? The Samaritan woman at the well. She immediately became an evangelist and brought her whole town to Him. (John 4) • First witnesses to the resurrection? Mary Magdalene and the other women. The guys? Hiding. Jesus trusted the women to preach the biggest news in history. (Matthew 28, John 20) • He defended women publicly (the one caught in adultery, the woman who anointed His feet), let Mary sit at His feet learning like a rabbi’s disciple (while Martha stressed in the kitchen), and had female financial backers funding His entire ministry (Luke 8:1-3). Paul himself wrote “there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28). So next time someone tries to Paul-splain a woman into silence… just smile and say, “Bless your heart. Have you met Deborah and Priscilla?” Women have been teaching, leading, and proclaiming the Gospel since day one. The Bible celebrates it. Period. This Trad stuff is getting out of hand when even Biblical teachings are used as a weapon. Please stop!

@jeremylatzke @elonfangirl2 It's relevant because some sects speculate that even Mary was conceived immaculately. Sex within marriage is sanctified by God; He invented it. However these sects view sex, even within marriage, as dirty. Aside from being more devout, Mary was a normal Jewish young woman.

@elonfangirl2 I am not, in this post, taking a position on the issue or inviting opinion on it. Quite the opposite, in fact. Whatever they did or didn't do, they would be aghast at the fact that people care and have actual discussions about it at all. It's weird.
