Last Friday was one of the most amazing days I've had in my work life. I'm extremely grateful for all my supervisors, brilliant opponents and everyone participating. I feel so lucky, getting to call some of the best people I know my colleagues! Thank you 🌟

@HikesWithDogs00 As I said, what they did is BS. Just need to push back on entitled comments that somehow only 120 hours is somehow horrific.
Scotland, United Kingdom 🇬🇧 English

@TimSolbergPhD Furthermore, we have caps on accrued hours and no one is in violation. More subtly, this effects only non- unionized workers which is only a small fraction of the hospital's employees. They are sticking it to the people they can.
English

@HikesWithDogs00 I have seen payouts in excess of $150k. Institutions set aside millions for this. Drives up healthcare costs. So, I’m all for use it or lose it policies. Disclosure: UW has no rollover.

@TimSolbergPhD I acknowledge the privilege of having vacation days. I get slightly more than 11. But they are precious and should be spent with family and not burned to make corporate CEOs bottom lines look better.
English

@HikesWithDogs00 From a management point of view, generous vacation rollover is exceedingly expensive, because many employees do not use their vacation for family time, but hoard it for payout when they leave employment.

@HikesWithDogs00 “academic time,” “professional time,” a travel/ professional budget, ….. I find more people who still find that’s not enough than I do people who appreciate it
English

@HikesWithDogs00 My point wasn’t about Swedish, what they did is BS. My point was more about the horrors of only 120 of vacation per year. We are super fortunate to be in a profession that pays well and provides perks beyond belief -

@RishiSunak @elonmusk School girl crush, Rishi. Really attractive in the leader of a major world power. What’s next, pull a trump and show him top secret documents? And I guess you’ve got nothing better to do. For you, the robots will come.
English

@RishiSunak @elonmusk @X Yeah, Rishi. Because the world cares what Elon Musk thinks? I predict it won’t be the robots chasing you. Idiot.

@Jim_Jordan Behind 13-0 but hoping to pick up a riding time point. Stupid wrestler, and even dumber politician. Adios, Gym.

BREAKING: The Cuban restaurant in Miami that hosted Donald Trump’s post-arraignment campaign stop is hit with devastating news as its longtime Cuban customers launch a boycott against it for hosting “a criminal who endangered our national security.”
But it gets even better…
The leaders of the boycott blasted Trump, declaring that, “It’s not as if he was charged with breaking a dish in the White House. He was charged with putting the national security of the United States in danger.”
One of the leaders, who migrated to Miami from Cuba to flee Castro’s regime, declared that the restaurant hosting Trump was “an insult to the country that took us in.”
Another longtime Cuban regular of the restaurant, Versailles restaurant in Little Havana, declared, “I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to go back there again. Trump is not just a regular politician. He’s a criminal It was all for show and it was a betrayal. He claims to be anti-communist, but in every other way, he’s a wannabe dictator.”
Another Cuban regular took aim at Trump and his supporters, declaring that, “Trump’s supporters look like they’re possessed. We’ve seen these ‘rallies’ before. Fidel Castro did it.”
Please retweet and ❤️ if you support this boycott — and consider investing in Tribel, a “woke” new Twitter competitor that is currently doing a round of equity crowdfunding and just blew past $1.3 million raised from 3,400 of its users. If you want to own a small piece of what is quickly becoming the “next big thing” in social media, here is the link to do so, wefunder.com/Tribel. You can invest as little as $100 — or as much as you’d like. Here’s the link to download the new Tribel app that Elon Musk is so afraid of: tribel.app.link/okwPIHYCIqb
