Notwithstanding the incessant calls I receive from unqualified rookie cold callers on my CRE portfolio I have decided to engage a certain firm to handle a property sale for us. Mostly it’s just demonstrating how much respect I have for Tyler and Jason. Get to work fellas!

This guy owns a $10M In-N-Out in Salt Lake City and builds drive thru properties all over the country If that's not the American Dream, I don't know what is @TripleNetFef and I pulled up on @dirtdog in his natural habitat to ask how he does it, and how others can to

Client wanted me to list a property for 20% more than what it’s worth I told him respectfully it’s not worth that Another broker told him he could get it I told him to give the other broker the listing for 90 days and if it closes I will pay for the closing dinner He just called me 90 days later He wants me to list it for the price I originally suggested It pays to stand your ground

@TripleNetTyler That's only applicable to verbal communication. With written, it's actually 10% what you say and 90% which emoji you use🍩

@chloecypers @TripleNetTyler What can I say? Ever since I got 2 cats, I've been flooded with happiness. I suggest everyone gets a couple. Not sure if you'd be able to handle that responsibility though.

How do you get someone to drop their guard on a cold call? Try asking for a favor: “Hey super random but I know you’ve worked with XYZ company before. What was their turnaround time?” People like helping people It becomes a warm call Then you can transition into your pitch

@MaxFisherCRE My favorite: "<name>, you're harder to get ahold of than the last pickle in the pickle jar!" I'm yet to not get a (small) chuckle. Then I transition to a semi-personalized open ended question.

@kenashley My trick is to only allow myself to dwell on one failure/rejection at a time. Each one gets swapped out pretty quickly in our business! 🥲

In commercial real estate I believe your success is directly correlated to your ability to handle failure and rejection. It takes me 24 hours to process a major loss (say from a pitch) then I move on with a smile. Live to fight another day.

@dionlisle @TripleNetTyler Out of curiosity, given your expertise, what do you think is next after kiosks? I'm trying to think what could be automated further…

I talk to California fast food retaurant operators on a daily basis and there is one common theme: ‘Automation’ How can we integrate tech to eliminate the need to pay $20/hour for labor? The new CA minimum wage law is about to eliminate a lot of jobs
