@TrueGridUI I’d say we weren’t fully aligned at first, my point calls out any mandatory learning for core tasks, while yours highlights the difference between helpful scaffolds and clarity substitutes.

Hot take ♨️ If users need a tutorial to understand your product… your UX already failed.

@Crownzdesigns We're saying the same thing then 😄 Scaffolds that extend capability = good design. Tutorials that substitute for clarity = UX failure. That's exactly the distinction I was making from the start.

Figma works because its onboarding and tooltips are scaffolds, not substitutes for clarity, the core interface still communicates value immediately. The moment a product makes users rely on tutorials to accomplish its fundamental tasks, that’s when UX has already fallen short, no matter how extensive the documentation.

@Crownzdesigns Fair on Duolingo but what about Figma? Not a tutorial-first app. The core purpose is design. Still has documentation, tooltips and a full onboarding flow nobody calls it a UX failure.

Duolingo is literally a tutorial first app. Its whole product is teaching users through lessons. In that context, needing a tutorial doesn’t indicate UX failure, it’s the core purpose. Good design should teach naturally while letting the main value shine immediately, not rely on instructions.
