@TreyWallace So what happens when other Texas Tech players break team rules? How do you hold them accountable if you won’t hold Sorsby accountable for one of the worst rules to break!
English

@raiderpower67 Wrong, Sorsby is a great player, but he broke the rule of all rules thousands of times and should not be allowed to play...simple as that. That would be my take, no matter what team he played for.
English

Reminder half the teams crying about Sorsby would’ve taken him in the portal yesterday if he entered.
Nobody actually cares about the gambling. They care that Texas Tech got him back.

If it’s news to you, you just haven’t been paying attention, but the real ones know! @UteReef33 is elite as elite gets and continues to prove it year after year!! He develops some of the best man coverage corners in the country, and the care he gives his players is unmatched!!

English

@Vern_Funquist So you won't hold him accountable to team rules, NCAA rules? How do you enforce any of the rules with your players if you can't do that with Sorsby? Absolutely no accountability. Good luck with that.

IT. IS. STILL. AGAINST. THE. RULES.
HOW ARE THERE NO ADULTS IN THE FUCKING ROOM IN LUBBOCK?!

"It's crazy...because it's not murder, it's not beating somebody..." Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire defends his QB Brendan Sorsby, who's under fire for gambling on his own team's football games:

@RedRaiderSports @ChrisLevel @BenjaminGolan @JarrettDRamirez @RRSLJordan @LaneSelph @ShelbyCHilliard @TTUHoopsFans @On3 You can support a kid and not allow him to play. It happens all of the time in other instances. It's not that hard. You guys don't want to see this opportunity pass you by. You want all of those W's more than you want to do the proper thing.

@broadwayshuff Texas Tech sees the opportunity to be a really good team this year with Sorsby at QB. They know the Hammond kid isn't going to get it done. They're looking the other way and don't care what the ramifications are.
English

Honest question: What would you have done?
A player fought for eligibility.
A court made a ruling.
Texas Tech supported its quarterback.
So what are we missing?

@broadwayshuff Any school that would allow this kid to play after breaking the NCAA gambling rule several thousand times should not be allowed to play, period. If it were my team, I would just assume he is done. I wouldn't want a kid who has gambled on the sport playing for my team.

@Joseph_Duarte No, it's never going to recover from this decision. Everybody hates Tech now, except tech fans.
English

@DontAtMeDD If this happened to any big school the same hatred and same criticism would reign down on them as well. You're not all that, Oregon proved that to you.
English

@PeteThamel Hilarious, what happens after he misses the first 2 games depends on how his treatment is going? What that means is, you bet your butt he will be ready for the Houston game. You don’t care about his treatment and I don’t think he does either.

@jt_thompson77 Wrong!! They could do the right thing and refuse to play him because of what he has done! He broke the one rule that you cannot break and that is gambling and he did it thousands of times. He’s not sorry about it. He is only sorry he got caught and now Texas Tech is complicit.
