@Vern_Funquist Conferences are just a collection of schools agreeing to play each other. Why are they made to be this “Holy Grail”? Conferences are so big they can’t possibly choose a true champion. UGA goes 1 & done out of CFP as SEC champ.

I think the bigger story here is that in the last two years, only three teams from the SEC ranked outside of the top ten finished in the top 25 altogether. Two of them were Ole Miss. That's pretty damning.

No disagreement that appeasing fans is a tall order, but despite all the wild moments Urban was part of at Tiger Stadium, @LSUfootball fans aren’t quite where @AlabamaFTBL fans are. The Tide fan base needs a National Title every year. The Tigers will be satisfied with 1 a decade but they’ll need to contend every year! @Lane_Kiffin has a couple of years to satisfy them.
