Edwin Sifuna: The problem in this country is a software problem. We want to condemn the continued disobedience of court oders by the members of the National Assembly, the Speaker himself. We want to continue to condemn the intimidation and harrasment. I can tell you for a fact that the only problem they have with Antony Kibagendi is that Mr. Kibagendi has stayed on business on matters corruption and SHA and they want to kill that voice in the National Assembly because they know that is where the people sent us to be able to represent them. #Yanayojiri

Babu Owino: I want to take this opportunity to condemn the contemptuous act by the National Assembly to blatantly, intentionally and deliberately disobey court orders without any legal justification. The suspension given to Antony Kibagendi by the Speaker of the National Assembly is null and void simply because he uttered words which to the Speaker, thought that were not words that should be uttered in public. Kibagendi had a right to speech because we know that freedom of speech is the oxygen to democracy. He spoke outside Parliament therefore whatever he said is not binding inside or within the precincts of Parliament. #Yanayojiri

@citizentvkenya The Gikomba issue is one of the most painful tests of how devolution is being handled from an economic household perspective. For many mama mboga and hustlers are the ones bearing the heaviest burden, struggling to survive in the aftermath. #CitizenExplainer

Charles Hinga: The reason why we are where we are now is because of poor leadership. We have watched Nairobi and urban areas degenerate over the years and with a lot of promises from politicians that if you elect me, I am going to sort out these issues. We host UNEP and UN-Habitat in Nairobi, and then you tell me that it is okay for years that what was a river is raw sewer, and we have become comfortable with that over time because we are not uncomfortable with it #CitizenExplainer

The newly proposed Gikomba market design. Lakini this govt is full of delulu mumus. Mama Mboga businesses do well in informal settings & not in grandiose architectural settings. The good thing with Kasongo, he doesn’t discriminate whether you are one term or two term.🤣🤣🤣🤣

A coworker died yesterday morning😭. HR knew by 9 :00 AM, but they kept us working all day. They finally told us around 4 :30 PM, then had the nerve to say, "You can head home early if you need to"—knowing we all finish at 5: 00 PM anyway. This morning, it’s back to "business as usual." Some of my friends are literally sobbing at their desks, but they’re expected to work and be productive. No time to grieve. It’s a cold reality. Within a week, the company will have his job posted online. Within a month, someone else will be sitting in his chair. But his family ,his children will still talk about him every day, they will ask where is daddy , His wife will mourn him for ages ,he was the love of her life . At work, we are just a "resource" that can be replaced in a week. At home, we are the world. Stop giving your best energy to a desk that will forget you, and giving the "leftovers" to the people who never will.

Been asked about the track record of President Maraga as a Chief Justice for 4 years. President Maraga left a strong legacy during his tenure as Chief Justice of Kenya (2016–2021), defined by integrity, judicial independence, and constitutionalism. Here are some of his most notable achievements: 1. Annulment of the 2017 Presidential Election President Maraga led the Supreme Court of Kenya in making a historic ruling that nullified the 2017 presidential election. This was the first time in Africa that a sitting president’s election was overturned by a court, reinforcing the supremacy of the Constitution and electoral accountability. 2. Strengthening Judicial Independence He consistently defended the autonomy of the Judiciary against political pressure, ensuring that courts operated without interference from the executive or legislature. 3. Championing the Rule of Law President Maraga became known for his firm stance that no one is above the law. He openly criticized government actions that undermined court orders and constitutional principles. 4. Promoting Integrity and Accountability He emphasized ethical conduct within the Judiciary, taking steps to address corruption and inefficiency among judicial officers. 5. Expanding Access to Justice Under his leadership, the Judiciary increased its outreach through mobile courts and digitization efforts, making justice more accessible to ordinary Kenyans. 6. Advisory on Constitutional Accountability In 2020, Maraga advised the President to dissolve Parliament for failing to enact the two-thirds gender rule, demonstrating his commitment to constitutional enforcement—even on politically sensitive matters. 7. Judicial Reforms and Efficiency He spearheaded reforms aimed at reducing case backlogs and improving service delivery in courts across the country. Overall, President Maraga’s tenure elevated the credibility of Kenya’s Judiciary and positioned it as a key pillar in safeguarding democracy and constitutional order.
