when i read, i use a stitchwork of: (1) zotero (highlight quotes & add notes) (2) speechify (listen while i read) (3) chatGPT (ask questions & clarify concepts / discuss my takeaways) (4) readwise (re-surface notes) i die by my process but need something better

Does anyone know of a solution that combines TTS and text highlighting, similar to Speechify, to read ebooks in the browser? I crafted this quickly, but I wonder if a proper tool exists?

@doinghun We don't have Obama's voice, but you might like desktop.with.audio since it's a one time payment Text To Speech solution.

Tried Speechify for 3 days (free trial). Its killer function was reading Kindle in smooth, melodic AI voice - Gwyneth Paltrow, Obama, etc. But didn't proceed to subscribe the yearly price (S$199) was too expensive for my use case. I have many alternatives like Kindle Assistive reading (voice sucks though) or Alexa (voice better but UI sucks - can't highlight or track my Kindle progress). Saving articles in Speechify to read it out loud - Readwise nicely substitutes it for better price & greater range of integrations. But I'll miss reading a book in Obama's voice. Too good.
