NASA is planning a permanent return to the Moon, backed by a reported $20 billion investment to build a base where astronauts can live and work long term. But a mission like that does not just depend on getting there, it depends on what happens after. How do you power a base through extreme cold, long periods of darkness, and conditions that have never supported sustained human life before? Part of that answer is being developed in Cleveland.
