I personally do not believe that there’ll be a version of GTA 6 that offers early access. That strategy is for games that aren’t going to sell millions of copies per month for the next 15 years like GTA 6 will. I imagine that studios do it when the long-term success of a game isn’t guaranteed and they need to make as much money as quickly as possible. There is zero reason for Rockstar to alienate a chunk of their player base for a quick buck. It would just be a dumb decision that’d result in a huge hit to their reputation. They’ve never done it before, and I cannot in any capacity see them doing it now.

I just went on YouTube and Sav a GTA content creator just posted this on his YouTube story he’s most likely going to make a video about this, but this is very interesting I’m trying to mention him on X but I cant find him if he sees this 💪

Online will be enough of an incentive for a lot of people anyway, it’s a good middle ground if they choose to do that. Early access is something that makes sense at first thought, because yeah it’d make them a shit ton very fast. But once you zoom out and view the bigger picture it becomes wayyyy less likely imo

Online and the main game are extremely different things. I can see them doing it for that. And yes, I know that they could make a shit ton initially. But I just do not think that it’s worth the hit to their reputation as well as the risk of alienating a significant chunk of their audience who cannot afford such a thing. Take Two is building this game to last long term. They value longevity over initial returns with this game. If that wasn’t the case then they would’ve cashed in and released GTA 6 ages ago in a worse state.

@GameRoll_ @videotech Pour le coup je ne suis pas d’accord. Déjà, parce que Rockstar l’a fait avec Red Dead Online. Ensuite, si l’accès anticipé est uniquement dans la version Ultimate à 150€, il va y avoir énormément de joueurs qui vont acheter cette édition juste pour accéder avant au jeu.

@GameRoll_ Maybe I just honestly think that they don't care because they know every person under the sun with a console will buy it day 0 or day 1 anyway. I'm not convinced 24 hour early access rage online is enough to make them lose 500+ mil bucks but... I hope you're right. We'll see!

@GameRoll_ The biggest reason why I do not think they would do early access is because so many people would flood the Internet with GTA content, and there would be some among that group that would completely spoil the story for those that didn’t pay for early access.

@GameRoll_ Do you think they will include a copy of the physical game with the collectors edition like GTA 5 or do you think it will be another RDR2 situation?

Again yeah they’d make a quick buck, but this game isn’t being built for that. It’s going to last over a decade. This would cause a huge shit storm, and their main priority is getting as many people to play GTA 6 as possible. This does nothing but harm that. The game is going to sell incomprehensibly well regardless. Just an unnecessary risk for what’s relatively a small return in the grand scheme of things.

@GameRoll_ I honestly think they'll do it :( They would make hundreds of millions extra from it (24 hours is enough) and at the same time as they keep the "normal price" for the standard edition. For them it's a win win.

*This doesn’t extend to GTA Online. I can MAYBE see there being an early access period for that with the deluxe edition or something. But for the actual game? I can’t see it whatsoever.
