@Zoddzai @Shoi_kuchi_420 you're both wrong Sassanids didnt spread persian. The closest thing to the spread, was by Nestorian greek christians, who had to use a lingua franca People didnt speak persian at all, if we look at contemporary sources from 8th century. It only happened first with tahirids

The Afghan siege of Esfahan in 1722 killed around 80,000 people through extreme brutality; Afghan forces executed over 3,000 Safavid nobles and guards and eventually massacred almost every male member of the royal family. The Islamic occupiers deployed the same Afghan militias to massacre the people in Esfahan, a city still traumatized by the 18th‑century slaughter. Esmaeil Barbari, known as Haji Barbar, an Afghan, and one of the commanders of the Fatemiyoun terrorist militia have massacred thousands of Iranians in Esfahan and its suburbs during the January protests.
