This is the postmortem report indicating that Mr David Munene died while undergoing treatment at Embu Referral Hospital and the cause of his death being multiple injuries caused by blunt force trauma. David Munene deserves justice. We cannot normalize police killings in this country @IPOA_KE

His name is David Munene Mwaniki from Embu. On the 30th of March 2026 David was arrested by Kenya Forest officers in Kangaita. He was brutally assaulted by the forest officers and later booked at Kerugoya Police Station and the day he was presenteed in court he asked for medical attention telling the court that he was beaten on the head. The court ordered immediate medical attention and at Kerugoya Level 5 Hospital where he was taken, Doctors found internal bleeding after a head scan. He was later transferred to Embu Level 5 Hospital where he succumbed on the 8th of April 2026. The post-mortem report confirms that David died from multiple injuries caused by blunt force trauma. David is another victim of extrajudicial killings. #JusticeForDavidMunene

@Mucuka_ @NPSOfficial_KE The Guardian article states that the images were from a previous trip. This isn’t something they did once; it wasn’t out of bad luck that they were using the aircraft on that particular day. It’s a pattern of misuse of state resources.

@_Anonymous317 @NPSOfficial_KE The police Airwing Commandant at the time was Rogers Mbithi. The aircraft needed for the Recce squad was used to fly his daughter-in-law and grand kids back to Nairobi from Mombasa on the day of the attack. You can see his relatives casually posing on the said plane in the photos

Here to remind you that the aircraft that should have airlifted the Recce squad to Garissa was unavailable because a high-ranking NPS official was using it to take his family on holiday at the Coast.
