For my Alfresco alumni... Caught up with the legend that is @andyhealey101 in Sydney this evening! (Probably should have taken the selfie in front on a famous Sydney landmark rather than a random restaurant, but hey-ho).

Does there exist any React form library that doesn't equate to passing around event listeners/hooks?

My bebe Butters passed away yest day at 17 years young. She’s Peanut’s older sister. She passed peacefully in her sleep. I can’t explain how I feel. She taught Peanut everything and now it’s like her other half is missing. 😭 I will miss her gigantic smile and energy. Love you B.

@lorvsso "glory" verb: take great pride or pleasure in. I can't help you with the fame, but I hear it's not all it's cracked up to be

This thread lives rent free in my head. It is so easy to make broad truth claims in tech; I do all the time! We should always be willing to wrestle with nuances of particular circumstances

@pollen8 What about reducing sprint length? We've been using weekly sprints. Easier to plan (shorter ceremonies!) and it doesn't seem so drastic to delay something to the next sprint (because it's only 4 working days away at most)

@_DaveDraper First time back to sprints for a while. 2 week sprints. We will have all the ceremonies and yes to most of those questions . This issue was requested externally. Basically I think we can't have our cake and eat it. Either we are goal focused (sprints) or hyper reactive (kanban)

First time back to sprints and they're already being reorganised mid sprint. Spoke to a fellow dev in another company and he said this is par for the course. Can't we just stop pretending and do kanban please?

@pollen8 How long are the sprints? Who reorganising them? Is the team bringing in new issues or are they being forced on the team? Do you run retros to analyse why the changes occurred? Does a stakeholder sign off on the sprint goal and review outcomes in the retro? 🤔

I get sprints are meant to motivate a team towards an achievable goal. Deliberately reducing the possibly of achieving it however demotivates teams.

@pollen8 @InfoSum I miss playing badminton with InfoSum folk. Haven't picked up a racket since I left 😢 ... Are you still schooling them all, Rob?

It's a small world. Our new QA manager plays at my badminton club. @InfoSum will soon have enough of us for a team.

I'm sure a mathematician would tell me it wasn't, but it sure felt very random to bump into a work colleague at Treetops Adventure on the Central Coast, 100km from the office.
