🚨 UPDATE: The Warri House Officer Has Died. With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Dr. Ogbomade Samson Romani, the House Officer at Central Hospital, Warri, who slumped earlier this week and was admitted into the ICU. He died in the early hours of yesterday.💔 Dr. Samson, as he was fondly called, was described by colleagues as hardworking, respectful, and dedicated to his duty. He was a graduate of Niger Delta University (NDU). This is not just another obituary. In February, Dr. Samson was brutally beaten for nearly 20 minutes by hoodlums allegedly arranged by a patient’s relative. He sustained serious facial and abdominal injuries and had struggled with his health ever since. His attackers were never arrested. Now he is gone. Reports indicate he was laid to rest shortly after his passing. This marks the second doctor from NDU lost this week. It is a double blow for the NDU alumni and the entire medical community at large. 🎓 We again call on the Delta State Government and relevant authorities: - Why were the February attackers never arrested? - What protections are in place for healthcare workers? - How many more young doctors must die before action is taken? Dr. Ogbomade Samson Romani was beaten while serving the public. He deserved protection. He deserved justice. He deserved to live. May his soul rest in peace. The part that broke me the most was where he had to lie to them that he was not a Christian, but a Pegan. John must have thought that he’ll be freed if he says that. They insulted him and make mockery of his own JESUS”. Lord, how did we get here? How did we become a people who watch suffering and feel so powerless? In his cries, I heard the echo of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who in His agony still looked up to You and said, “Father…”because even in pain, He knew You were there. So today, with tears in my eyes and fear in my heart, I call on You the same way… Father, please do not forsake us. This land is hurting. The fear is real. The silence is loud. And for those of us who have nothing, no protection, no voice… it feels like we are left at the mercy of darkness. Lord, please arise. Let Your justice speak. Let Your mercy move. Let Your presence be felt again in this nation. Please save that man, John… wherever he is right now, step into his pain. Hold him in ways no human can. Send help he cannot see. Fight for him when he is too weak to fight for himself. Remind him that he is not alone, even in that moment of terror. Lord, I have no money, no influence, nothing physical to offer… but I refuse to be silent. So I give You this cry, this pain, this prayer. Please turn our tears into testimony. My mother called me lazy 2 days ago for not washing dishes. I had to remind her that I was a whole orthopedic surgery resident in one of the best hospitals in the country and I'm qualified to practice in 2 countries. I washed the plates coz she said none of that concerns her 😪

The more I prayed for the rain to stop, the harder it lashed me. The stings on my face were sharp and unkind, and in that moment, it hit me-street kids don’t really love the rain.
