The Delta State Government has commenced the disbursement of the 2025 scholarship awards to children of deceased civil servants and students living with disabilities across the state.
The Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, in a statement signed by its Executive Secretary, Dr. Godfrey Enita, said the exercise followed the approval of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
According to the statement, the disbursement exercise will run from Tuesday, May 19, 2026, to Friday, May 29, 2026.
Beneficiaries and members of the public seeking further clarification are advised to contact Patricia Olie on 0811 181 2898 for enquiries relating to children of deceased civil servants, while enquiries concerning students with disabilities should be directed to Chinedu Uwabuofu on 0806 477 5373.

Strengthening efforts to promote local enterprise and economic growth, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has appointed Dr. Godwin Adolor, FCIB, as Delta State Coordinator of the Made in Nigeria Project, a federal initiative aimed at boosting indigenous production and supporting homegrown businesses.
Dr. Adolor, who serves as Executive Secretary/CEO of the Delta State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (DEMSMEDA), was inaugurated alongside coordinators from across the 36 states in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Speaking after the inauguration, Adolor thanked Governor Oborevwori for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work with stakeholders to advance the project’s objectives in Delta State.

In a defining move to further strengthen the Delta State Civil Service, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has announced a new policy that henceforth, whoever will succeed as Head of Service must first spend a minimum of six months in that office as a Permanent Secretary, studying the processes, procedures, and responsibilities involved in managing the career progression of public officers.
He made it clear that leadership within the civil service must be built on experience, institutional understanding, and due process, not haste, entitlement, or shortcuts.
