There’s been many instances that it’s helped me debug issues, especially when I’ve exhausted all my options. So for me, LLMs are useful for more than just writing code. I see it as my coding companion that helps me with design/architectural decisions, especially on those late nights when you’ve no one else to talk to

Cursor/Claude shitposting aside, I don’t think people outside of SF tech circles quite understand just how much more productive certain engineers are becoming with LLMs. AI is becoming not just a tool but a full extension of the human brain and body. Engineers are easily getting 2-5x productivity increases over a wide range of tasks, by more wholly embracing LLM-written code and working at higher levels of abstraction. Sure it can result in buggy code, sure this is mostly only possible if you work in small-ish codebases, sure I don’t think it’s yet a “silver bullet” in the Fred Brooks sense. But there are certainly many startups that would be completely unable to do their eng work without embracing what I call "cyborg engineering" (Exa included, although we’re still super understaffed so pls join us)

i signed up on Sat, Nov 20, 2010 and it still felt early. we were living as digital nomads and there were so few options in some countries, we'd zoom out to the entire country and pick one of the half dozen options to book. it was magical and enabled a whole new way of travel for us.

Guy I’m partnering on an LA project just built these 5 for sale townhomes in Seattle. Think they turned out amazing! Entitled & Built in 13 months. ~$275 per square foot hard costs. Total project cost ~$4.6M including land, construction, financing & soft costs. Anticipates selling out at ~$1.5M per unit. ~$7M total. Who is building for sale Townhomes in LA? Can numbers like these be replicated in LA?
