India’s car market shift in May 2026 🇮🇳📊
⛽ Petrol/Ethanol — 45.76%
🛢 Diesel — 16.23% (was 19.32% last year)
🔥 CNG/LPG — 23.34% (big jump from 19.93%)
🔋 Hybrid — 8.05%
⚡ EV — 6.63% (up from 4.51% last year)
Key takeaway:
Diesel is steadily declining, while CNG and EVs are growing fast. India’s transition is not “ICE vs EV” — it’s becoming a multi-powertrain market focused on reducing oil imports and pollution.

✅ Subsidise home & society EV chargers with DISCOM tie-ups to kill range anxiety
✅ Mandatory EV/CNG charging every 50 km on highways for seamless intercity travel
✅ Separate low-tax category for e-bikes/e-cycles with no licence requirement
✅ EV fleet mandates for large corporates — govt & industry must lead adoption
English

Ideal ways to reduce pollution and foreign dependency of oil
✅ Ask Citizens to maintain your existing car and push them to use for 25+ years
✅ Give exchange benefits on EVs
✅ 5% GST on Strong Hybrids and EVs with zero registration cost for 10 years.
✅ Ensure a safe (for women & from pickpockets and rush) end to end public transport in big Cities for all kind of pockets and outsource management to some Japanese/German firm for flawless functioning.
✅ No toll fee & parking fee for EVs till 2035

@aparanjape @manujosephsan True. Solved poverty, created gridlock. Indeed a problem to solve — and a harder one, because nobody wants to give up what they just earned 🚗
English

"We have solved extreme poverty, which was the easy part. Now we have to solve the problems of prosperity. When everyone is empowered to own a vehicle and drive any way they want, what does India do? It has no idea to deal with it."

Respect. 🇮🇳
People only see the final headline when an engine works. Very few see the sweat, heat, failed runs, sleepless nights and relentless testing behind it.
This is how real capability is built — not in presentations, but on the ground with engineers standing beside the hardware in 48°C heat.
India needs more builders like you.
English

Testing a jet engine in the middle of an Indian summer is an experience of its own.
A jet engine of our size can complete one air change of the entire test cell in less than 40 seconds. Add 48°C ambient temperatures and the immense heat coming off the engine, and the local environment gets uncomfortable very quickly.
Then do it again.
And again.
Multiple runs a day. Multiple days a week.
We don’t have the facilities of Rolls-Royce or GE. We are building capability one test at a time, with the infrastructure we have.
Not everyone can sit in air conditioning. Some people have to be out there with the hardware.
I am out there because I want to see those test runs myself.
Nobody teaches you this part.

Today, India is back ahead in market-cap rankings.

@YusufDFI India already has anti-drone and counter-surveillance capabilities. In times of need, those systems will speak for themselves. Constant monitoring doesn’t mean strategic advantage. 🇮🇳

The Chinese satellites monitor Indian territory more than even India does. Each inch of our territory is under surveillance — ISRO official

@ashumadan4 When global markets were flying, we stayed cautious.
If globals start bleeding now, India’s real strength will finally be tested.

@BaluGorade Tata Sierra launched with massive hype & strong bookings, but yeah the buzz has cooled in this brutal SUV market. It's doing decently with steady sales, not a runaway hit yet but still holding its own. Competition is ruthless! 🚗 What do you think of it? #TataSierra

@ferrarirules86 Petrolheads discussing octane levels while EV owners are fighting for the charger near the refrigerator plug 😂🔌
English

Valid concern, but the real issue isn't the policy — it's the execution 🧵
E20 rollout happened overnight with zero consumer communication. No pump signage, no mileage impact disclosure, nothing.
50% of pre-2023 vehicle owners reported mileage drops and nearly 3 in 10 reported unusual engine wear — because older cars simply weren't built for this.
More than half of older vehicle owners now want the E0/E10 option back. That's not anti-green sentiment — that's a trust breakdown.
Brazil took 40 years to get to E85. India is trying to do it in 5.
Good vision. Poor transition planning. Consumer shouldn't bear the cost silently 🙏
English

Thanks to E20, my car’s mileage has dropped from around 10–11 km/l to barely 8–9 km/l. 🚗
Now there are already claims that E85 could reduce mileage by another 20-25%.
Funny part? The mileage indicator bottoms out at 8, it literally won’t display anything lower.
Masterstroke indeed… the customer never truly knows the real mileage anymore
Please Note -
E85 should only be filled for FLEX FUEL engines. Car portals and forums have already claimed 20-25% mileage drop. We will need to wait and watch the long term impact.

@PlusPointIndia India isn’t just joining the semiconductor race anymore — it’s building its own lane 🇮🇳
2026 fab production, $206B demand by FY35, and a growing local ecosystem… the next decade could be transformational for Indian manufacturing.
English

🇮🇳Domestic semiconductor plants are expected to meet 50% of India's chip demand by FY35, according to MeitY
📢India's semiconductor demand is projected to
FY26 - $44 Billion
2035 - $206 Billion
📢 At least 4 approved semiconductor projects are expected to begin commercial production in 2026
📢India is building a semiconductor ecosystem targeted at $120 Billion by 2035

@manas_muduli This is exactly the kind of infrastructure shift EV adoption needed.
Changes EV travel from “planning around charging” to simply taking a coffee break.
If more hubs get this level of fast-charging density, range anxiety in India won’t survive much longer ⚡🇮🇳

⚡ KHALAPUR ON THE MUMBAI–PUNE HIGHWAY GETS A MEGA EV CHARGING HUB
1️⃣ 10 charging points with up to 360 kW charging speed
2️⃣ Charge up to 10 EVs simultaneously, with a typical charging session of 30–40 mins
3️⃣ Estimated wait time:
• Weekdays: 0–10 mins
• Busy weekends/holidays: 15–45 mins
4️⃣ Located roughly 75 km from Mumbai & 45 km from Pune
5️⃣ Adjacent to a major food mall with multiple restaurants, making charging stops more convenient
A glimpse of what India's EV highway network could look like.
