Handy chart for anyone who thinks that males taking estrogen can in any way mimic the menstrual cycle. Notice the complex and specific levels of hormone fluctuations and how they correspond to the biological process of ovulation and menstruation.

@Hestia_Esq My son has just been so humbling. Everything that I thought I did right with my first has been totally different for him. This new baby will be a whole new person to get to know and her own set of problems to figure out. But I love them so much, my babies.

@assignedredhead This one got me. My first two were amazing eaters (and we did put in a lot of work to make it this way, and also some luck because no sensory issues etc) and we definitely got cocky. My third is so picky

I had the perfect Weston Price nutrient rich low carb diet when the nausea and barfing hit with my first and then even the smell of meat made me barf for months I had the worst diet of leftover kid scraps with my 3rd and 4th and had way less nausea and barfing
vittorio@IterIntellectus

last month I shared what the wife and I found to work for her to avoid the first trimester nausea. a lot of people asked for more information about what else we did, so here it is

@Hestia_Esq Can’t wait for the posts on BLW in 6 months…like I did that with both of my kids - my first is a great eater and my second is super picky and in the 3rd percentile for weight, despite everything I’ve tried.

@Hestia_Esq It’s hitting me as especially ridiculous as the mother of two, pregnant with my third. I’ve parented them very similarly and yet they couldn’t be more different. I do think that some of my choices have influenced them, but a lot of stuff is still innate.

@Hestia_Esq I applaud the parenting choices as someone who has and continues to make the same ones myself, but acting like others would have this perfect pregnancy and baby experience if they just did them too is so prideful and dismissive.

@Hestia_Esq Acting like all this stuff is easy if you do the research is so naive (the baby is 3mo). I breastfeed, cosleep, babywear, am a SAHM, etc. and have had SPD in pregnancy, PPD twice, terrible sleepers, and a sensitive child with reflux, an egg allergy, and weight issues.

Why does literally EVERYTHING suck now?? I went to quest diagnostics to get a blood draw, hit the wrong button while checking in and the check in girl is like “ 🤷🏻‍♀️ we can’t see you now, you’ll have to come back another time” like wtf I drove 45 minutes to this location?

@Waffle_Mother I’ve been on a big organizing kick for the past few days- I think I spent like $150 on bins. All of my kids’ clothes are neatly labeled. The cleaning and laundry has been on the back burner though…gotta get back to that soon but it’s not like I’m just sitting around.

@Utterly_Jean Yeah, we definitely are - not a big fan of our state’s politics but my entire extended family is here and it would be hard to build new community somewhere else.

@Waffle_Mother Your bump is super cute! I’m finally showing now and my lower back is feeling it. Did you find out the baby’s sex yet? I’ve been organizing all of the hand-me-downs for baby girl while I have the energy.

@Waffle_Mother I truly have no idea when this baby is gonna come - my first was 39+5 and my second 37+3. I had friends due around the same time who literally walked around ready to pop for 3-4 more weeks while I had a baby in my arms.

@LadyNimby When my husband was in boy scouts, one of the kids made dinner and boiled the pasta for twice as long since he used two boxes.

Went to my family’s house for dinner. Unnamed cook does not cook often. Puts in half a box of spaghetti for 6 people. 10 minutes to cook. 19 minutes later, pot still boiling. “I realized we needed more so I added the other half with like a minute to go and just reset the timer.”

@CoffeeBlackMD @bowtiedgerman My husband every night…it is much cheaper though. Snack foods, cookies, brand name cereal, etc. adds up on the grocery bill.

@homesteadwgrace @NatureGirl_21 I see this all the time online, I don’t get it. Your 18mo wants to be home with you, not gone from 8-6.

You'll never convince me prioritising your career over being a present parent isn't selfish. No I dont mean women who don't have a choice. Or women whos husband said no. I mean women who think their career is so important that they put newborns in daycare. Its selfish and awful.

@homesteadwgrace @NatureGirl_21 That’s so sad - my mom (4 kids) always told us how much she loved summer break: no schedule, all of us at home together, time outside. I love days off when we can just hang out and the kids play all day.

@NatureGirl_21 Hahha yes my mom (also a homeschool mom) and I talk about that often. How silly it is when public school moms complain about being with their kids for summer break. Ma'am, these are your OWN children!!!

Yes exactly! I have had so many of these conversations! As a homeschooler, I have had MANY mothers tell me they couldn't bare to be around their kids that much. So many selfish women out there and it isnt just online.

@IberianPikachu I’ve been buying stuff from Old Navy, they’re like the last store standing before Amazon. I can’t say the clothes are particularly cute but they fit.

@Elliesmommyy23 @pcosprincess22 I just could not get myself to eat meat for the first trimester land unlike regular pickiness, you will throw up if you don’t want to eat something, which just makes you feel even worse and loses the calories you already ate.

Here we go This is the rage account that said his wife didn’t have nausea at all because she ate protein So HG moms you just did it wrong. Moms who almost died from complications you didn’t do it right.
vittorio@IterIntellectus

nothing enrages me more than hearing people say how my wife and I got “lucky” with an easy pregnancy and an easy baby that’s like saying someone was unlucky if they got into an accident while drunk driving
