So... How long will we keep silent about the fact that on some animation packs Roblox bent arms at the elbows to the side?
On the "blocky" bodies it looks terrible. It breaks my skins...
I understand that this is done for the sake of realistic avatars, but bruh

@accountfortier4 It needs to have just a stretchy limbs and torso like s15 rather than multiple parts conjoined together, texture mapping sucks in current r15

If they removed the fucking hand plates from 1.0 R15 I would literally have 0 problem with it as a system. It otherwise looks fine.

Also the whole "privacy layer" thing for unrealistic avatars is such a terrible thing to enforce onto the UGC. I shouldn't have to mix and match different packages to achieve good results.

I've been saying for years that r6 desperately needs an upgrade. Higher res textures, more PBR support, so on and so on. I've already made a ton of r15 outfits using the r6 packages provided from the UGC, but they'll always look weird because of privacy layers and no animations.

@LukasThePickle @MaximumADHD while true it rubs off as pretty scummy to promise that r6 isn't going away and then basically incentivizing future devs to remove it from their future or current projects.

While I thought it was kind of lame that Roblox took this approach, I thought more into it and there honestly isn’t anything wrong with it
Roblox isn’t technically penalizing any R6 games, they’re just paying more towards the game that feature the content Roblox wants to see
Current R6 games won’t be making any less from this change

I appreciate those of you who are able to respectfully disagree with me. I understand there is nuance around the situation with R6 and there are plenty of valid points to make.

@FI0wi I can confirm however that when you join 18+ games on Roblox the majority of users use layered clothing and UGC avatars, mostly from people that joined in 2020 and up. Not defending Roblox here, they shouldn't try to make a whole genre of avatars extinct because of this reason.

Hey! 20 year old roblox player here (turning 21 this year) I can confidently say that I do not want hyper-realistic graphics or avatars.
In fact being able to create cartoon y looking characters as your avatar is one of the big reasons I am on this platform in the first place

Roblox is convinced older players want hyper-realistic graphics & avatars. So that's why they’re pushing human characters, avatar makeup, and hyper realistic graphics so much.

I'm gonna be 25 soon and the main reason why I still "play" Roblox after 15 years is basically just to make outfits. They're really fun, it's also fun collecting rare accessories even if it hits my wallet. But as of lately I've been logging on way less. Long fixation I guess.

@4Lulzy @RBXevents_ if you join roblox games like ontap you'll be surprised just how many newgen 18+ players like layered clothing and UGC character bundles. however that should not prevent any usage of r6 on the platform. really disappointing stuff from roblox.

All the people that use r6 wants is something that looks almost identical to r6 and has an animation identical to r6, but there's never going to be such. Those UGC packages never work (also the privacy layer ruins them all), and there's not a single animation package that works.

Like I cannot wear a majority of my avatars in r15 games because it just looks bad, plus the lack of any decent animation packages on the platform makes it less incentive for me to make an "r15 variant" of the avatar. It's a lot of work just to make your avatar work with a game.

To a degree it is true, when you join 18+ games you'll notice the uptick of rthro and layered clothing usage. However that shouldn't suddenly shut out r6 from ever being used again. One of my biggest complaints on Roblox is when a game doesn't allow the full range of avatars.

I just don't understand where this "New tech means better!" mindset comes from. If a decent chunk of players still want r6 they should have it, especially if they're paying customers. Silently pushing out r6 from the platform after promising it won't leave is just scummy behavior

Respect you for your work and stuff but your takes on R6 is so strange, the only reason R6 is so outdated and old is because Roblox lets it be that way. R6 can support a majority of the new tech. We're talking about a multi-billion dollar company that can adapt it anytime.
