@CardGameNomad It’s the money aspect, these people don’t care about Pokemon, only the money they can make with it. Real Pokemon fans care about each other not these people

@ThatNerdMert I just bought her not that long ago for 15$ lol. There were a few outlier cards, but most of those settled at a decent price or still a bit overpriced but nothing like today lol

The problem with the current pokemon TCG market is hardly any of the demand is actually collectors and players. Its all investors and secondary business inventory. Rip and Ships ruined this hobby. Stop paying these goobers, you actually can just miss out it doesn't hurt.

"I only pay MSRP" Ok enjoy missing out on the best set to come out in the last 5 years. The Pokemon company supply cannot meet demand. Simple economics. You are not owed anything.

Ask yourself..... Do you own every Pokémon card ever printed? Do you have every single master set? It's okay to miss out on cards/sets and be financially responsible.... Doing so is the key to longevity as a collector, not chasing hype and spending beyond your means.

@collectdotrip I only pay MSRP and have basically all the cards I want. This is BS, open a few sealed and buy singles. Can’t deny I have been lucky with pulls as well

@T2UCrp Is that assuming you are running a genuine business and paying taxes? If not it’s closer to 60 per hour before any expenses, probably closer to 50. Not worth it imo, can’t wait for things to be back to a point that it the return is negative 😭

@celeryspud Seems like able to profit $300 per box with max quantity of two. $600 over 6 hours is $100 an hour. Not too bad but can’t really get more than two

@CardGameNomad Man at this point TPC should just bring back early SV pull rates and print to demand…

“Early access” ≠ no more drops. Feels like they’ll still do regular releases—just with less supply. But bigger issue… The hobby is killing its own future: • Overpriced sealed • Singles at absurd prices • 8+ hour lines for restocks • Timeline full of fights + grown adults clearing shelves That’s not appealing to the average buyer. And if this turns into a true random lottery? We’ve seen how that goes: Bots eat supply → prices explode → average collectors get pushed out. Sports cards already went down that path with most hobby boxes. If PC ETBs go full random… don’t be surprised when $300+ becomes the norm for bad PC ETBs.
Hank Smoth@hankthetank694

@CardGameNomad For local yes, for nationwide global brand you will absolutely kill any future customers. If they were smart they’d do a partial lottery and then a complete normal drop. They’ve already taken good steps against botter; going full invite would be a horrible long term strategy.

@jennmelondies I dead ass ask if they are waiting for something, usually they end up tapping it right away. If they don’t I would ask if I can tap but hasn’t gotten to that point yet. If they say no then the store manager is getting called
