Meet the winner! In second place, Tshepiso Kola from Zitikeni Secondary School in Tembisa presented an awesome idea that uses material science to create electricity from the metabolic processes of bacteria. #materialscience #sustainableenergy

Their poster presented the advantages and disadvantages of the Piezoelectric Effect to harvest energy through pavements and roadways & how materials science can help bring about sustainable generation, which can power millions of homes across Mzansi.

Meet the winners! In 3rd place, the team of Rebanngwe Ngulele, Kgomotso Ramachela, Sisanda Dubula & Lindelani Mutavhatsindi, grade 11 learners from Norkem Park High School presented an incredible idea that uses sustainable electricity supply from the friction of mobile vehicles.

Connecting students who are on the journey of choosing science as a career with learners looking for advise from those they can relate to is a major factor to ensuring learners choose the study path for them and have the support they need to complete their studies. @WitsCHMT
