According to cwvtech.report 🤓 sites using @htmx_org 🗿or @elixirphoenix 🔥 perform better on CWV, INP & Lighthouse score than sites using React, Svelte, Vue, Angular and even Rails Hotwire Turbo, Laravel Livewire😎 probably due in large part to the lower page weight 🗿

whats your favorite type system feature in a programming language? it can be an unused lang or whatever, just something cool that you think other languages could be doing if it they were designed w/ it from the start ... definitely not making my own lang ... do not tell prime

@Jonathan_Blow I think this is evidence that an LLM's "meaning" matrix is still largely a predictive text matrix.

@Jonathan_Blow Yeah it seems terrible at this, I suspect because rare words are extremely unlikely to be the predicted next token. Its vocab is pretty limited even if you ask it to use more rare words with you.

I've been trying to use ChatGPT as a thesaurus but it doesn't seem to be very good ... it keeps making generic suggestions even when prompted like "imagine you are very learned, with a huge vocabulary"... it then just picks older generic words. Any hints? English has 600k words!

Stoicism has never resonated with me. It's always seemed selfish. My problem: it's not that I want to be like everyone else. My problem is I want to make everyone else happy or just be liked maybe. I honestly don't know how to make myself happy. It sucks to be in your forties and then suddenly realize you've just been chasing something your whole life that you can't get.

I'm so frustrated. I need to be put out to pasture. I just can't do this. None of this makes sense. I don't have control of anything. I don't want fight the whole world. I've done that for so long. At what point do you give up?

@TriedAngled The problems with React is not that it's modern but that it's complex. There are much more modern tools that are much simpler like Svelte and Datastar. But yes you should learn to make a basic website with HTML and CSS first, and then learn to add vanilla Javascript second.

@ThePrimeagen Serious answer to non-serious question: presumed it was easier to fix in Rust due to both semantics+compiler design and number of experienced Rust developers available to hire.

with the zig to rust ecosystem due to segfaults... why didn't bun's team just tell mythos to fix the segfaults? "fix memory errors, no mistakes, and make it secure"

@DelaneyGillilan @spirodonfl @HSVSphere I am going to add the equivalent to Go's `go.mod` to Odin soon. It's just something I've been putting off because Odin is not 1.0 yet. And when I add such a thing, and when it exists people will depend on it straightaway and we cannot make changes to it. Been the plan for ages.
