@vocalcry The only way this works is if the people asking offer their best seat, so the person doing the favor upgrades

Nothing drives me crazier than when people on a plane ask you to switch seats so they could sit together and they expect you to give up your window or aisle seat for their middle seat

I’m having the very first surgery in my life tomorrow, a tumor removal. Don’t worry y’all it’s benign. Ok maybe worry a little because it’s actually huge. I’ve made myself enough food to last for a week so I can recover in peace and bought those silicon scar plasters

Best of luck to you, total anesthesia is pretty pleasant honestly. They do an infusion on the upper part of your hand usually which doesn't hurt at all, and then you'll wake up somewhat relaxed in a dream-like state. Very akin to waking up in the middle of a night from a dream where you're not yet sure what's real or not.

If you can't work out why European nationalist parties can't gather at American-themed events, rally around the American flag and sing the American anthem while retaining credibility with their core voters, you might be eating too much lead. I consider myself an Amerophile, but after Greenland and Hormuz and the unceasing online Eurobaiting from former Amerifrens, I must admit the American right has worked very hard to make itself toxic in Europe. Totally aside from that, there is the completely insensitive branding of this event: both the American tone which is not appropriate for European politics, and the stars and stripes everywhere, which opens everyone up to fifth-columnist accusations and suspicions. It's really insane anyone thought this was a good idea. How would you feel about going to American CPAC event but Russian flag is flying everywhere etc. Regardless of your feelings about Ukraine or Russia, that will get you thinking about long-term viability of this relationship in your own country and what the people participating in this event even think they are doing and what arguments will be made about your true loyalties.

@signulll This is why I only meet VCs at Loro Piana for fittings. We chat for 45 minutes and when I’m presented with the $18,000 bill I nod to them, say “I appreciate it. Blue Bottle on me next time!” and leave the store.

Why is everybody writing long posts with one sentence per line? It’s really an unnatural way to write, and annoying to read. Sometimes they can maintain a thought long enough to have a second sentence. Then they break it up with a list: > bulleted with carrots for no fucking reason > always an odd number of points > never too many because who could read many > these are too long maybe > this is the new LinkedIn voice If you were trying to stand out in an overcrowded marketplace of ideas, would you write like this? Where is the demand for this style coming from? Ask yourself—where are you headed? P.S. btw I know how to make a million dollars, just give me your email address and I’ll tell you. You have nothing to lose, everything to gain. You can’t afford to be left behind.
