🇺🇸AMERICANS FEAR GOING BROKE MORE THAN DYING For millions of Americans, the biggest fear isn’t death — it’s living long enough to see their savings run out. 64% of U.S. adults fear financial collapse more than the end of life itself, a reflection of deep economic anxiety cutting across generations. Gen Xers, the generation squeezed between aging parents and college-bound children, are the most alarmed: 70% say financial ruin terrifies them more than death. Millennials follow at 66%, and even 61% of boomers — a group once considered financially stable — share the same fear. The driving forces behind this crisis are clear: 54% cite relentless inflation, 43% point to high taxes, and another 43% no longer trust that Social Security will be enough to protect them. Nearly 4 in 10 now believe Social Security could disappear entirely. Retirement, once seen as a reward, is now for many a race against insolvency. Source: Newsweek

@MarioNawfal Peculiar how mankind, gifted with scientific marvels, occasionally yearns for simpler times. The price of such nostalgia? Rather steep, wouldn't you say? Progress demands vigilance, not romantic retreats into preventable perils.

🇺🇸 MEASLES CASES JUMP TO 884 IN THE U.S. — THANKS, FALLING VACCINATION RATES Texas leads with 646 cases, and at least six states — including Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio — have full-blown outbreaks. Measles isn’t just a “kid’s rash” — it can cause blindness, brain swelling, pneumonia, and yes, death. Two unvaccinated kids in Texas already died. Experts say the real number is probably even higher — because measles spreads faster than bad TikTok advice. The MMR vaccine is 97% effective after two doses. Vitamin A, cod liver oil, and conspiracy theories? Not so much. Maybe stick to science — unless you really want to find out what 19th-century medicine felt like. Source: CDC, ABC News

🇺🇸 FIRST MEASLES CASE HITS ILLINOIS IN 800-CASE NATIONAL OUTBREAK Illinois just logged its first measles case tied to the ongoing nationwide outbreak—now totaling 800 infections, most tracing back to Texas. The Illinois Department of Public Health confirmed the case in an adult in southern Illinois but withheld exact location details. So far, it’s the state’s only reported case. This comes a year after Chicago faced a 67-case outbreak, mostly at the now-closed Pilsen migrant shelter. At its peak, 57 migrants tested positive while 1,900 asylum seekers were housed there. 🇬🇷STUDY: 45% OF “COVID DEATHS” IN ATHENS WEREN’T REALLY FROM COVID Researchers checked 530 hospital deaths during the Omicron wave — and found 45.3% didn’t die from COVID at all. Most actually died from cancer, sepsis, strokes, heart failure, or kidney failure — but because they tested positive, they got stamped as “COVID deaths” anyway. Some didn’t even have COVID symptoms — but hey, a positive test was all it took to make the numbers look scarier. Dying with COVID and dying because of COVID are two very different things… but the officials pretended they were the same. Source: Scientific Reports Media Source: @thackerpd

Study finds 45% of people reported to have died of COVID, did not die of COVID. Media and quoted "experts" repeatedly overstated COVID deaths during the pandemic, scaring the shit out of the public. It was almost military duty for some science writers.

Investors are rushing into Bitcoin: US-listed Bitcoin ETFs recorded $936 million in net inflows on Tuesday, the third-highest this year. In just 3 days, investors poured into Bitcoin ETFs a whopping $1.4 billion. Since the April 7 low, Bitcoin prices have surged over 25% and are trading above $94,000. For the first time all year, it appears that Bitcoin has decoupled from risky assets and is now seeing large safe haven-driven demand. Is Bitcoin heading to $100,000+?

TESLA'S GLASS ROOF IS BUILT DIFFERENT A massive tree fell straight onto a Tesla Model 3 in China — and the glass roof didn’t even crack. Tesla’s special “glass sandwich” design, made of two strong glass layers with a soundproof middle, can handle 4x the weight of the car without giving in. Tesla: "Glass roof in our vehicles can withstand 4x the weight of the car." Forget crash tests — Tesla glass just passed the giant falling tree test. 🇺🇸SCOTT JENNINGS: TRUMP’S IMMIGRATION CRACKDOWN MUST GO FORWARD “The president and the Justice Department and his people have to worry about the impact of illegal immigration on the country because nobody’s been worried about that four years. The reason this is important is because this is one of Donald Trump’s biggest criminal justice priorities. There are people and one political party in this country dedicated to reimporting, illegal aliens hand over fist, and it is outrageous.” Source: @bennyjohnson, CNN

🇺🇸 SCOTT JENNINGS: TRUMP HAS FIXED IMMIGRATION—THE SOUTHERN BORDER IS EFFECTIVELY CLOSED "He has a whole presidency to create results. He’s doing his part on trade deals; Republicans in Congress must make tax cuts permanent and pass energy policies. Immigration is fixed. The southern border is effectively closed. Nobody wants to come here because they know they'll get thrown out." Source: @ScottJenningsKY CNN

SOLAR ORBITER JUST TOOK THE MOST INSANE SUN SELFIE EVER Scientists stitched together a mega photo of the Sun so detailed you could fit 12 Earths inside a single pixel — and still have space for snacks. The Solar Orbiter spacecraft snapped 200 frames while frying under sunlight 15x stronger than what we get, using a camera that sees million-degree plasma loops we can’t even see with our eyes. Zoom in and you’ll catch the Sun throwing magnetic tantrums, blasting plasma jets the size of Texas, and stirring up storms that could fry satellites and knock out your Wi-Fi. The best part? This cosmic photoshoot is just getting started — next up: humanity’s first close-up look at the Sun’s poles. Source: Earth .com

THE SUN IS SECRETLY COOKING UP WATER ON THE MOON NASA-led experiments just confirmed it: the Moon’s dusty soil and a blast of solar wind can whip up fresh water. Scientists bombarded Apollo 17 samples with hydrogen ions, mimicking the sun’s constant stream, and spotted chemical signatures of hydroxyl and water forming. Even better, the process resets daily — cooling nights and relentless sunlight keep the Moon’s water cycle alive. Future astronauts could mine these hidden reserves for drinking, breathing, and even rocket fuel. Turns out, space alchemy is real. Source: SpaceCom, BBC

Japanese investors are selling US Treasuries: Japanese private financial institutions sold $17.5 billion of long-dated foreign bonds in the week ending April 4th. Subsequently, they dumped another $3.6 billion over the next 7 days. This marks the largest 2-week sell-off since the data began in 2005. That said, Japan’s finance ministry does not break down which countries’ bonds were sold. However, Japanese market strategists say a substantial share of selling was in either US Treasuries or Mortgage-Backed Securities. Keep watching the bond market.

🇺🇸 AMERICANS TAKING OUT LOANS... FOR GROCERIES In case you needed proof the economy’s weird: a growing number of Americans are taking out "buy now, pay later" loans just to afford groceries. A new LendingTree survey says 25% of users are financing their food, and 41% admitted they made a late BNPL payment in the past year — up from 34% the year before. Because nothing says "living the dream" like paying off a cheeseburger in installments and missing the bill. Experts say it’s not technically a recession yet, but don’t expect those numbers to magically get better anytime soon. Source: CNBC

🚨🇺🇸TRUMP: EGG PRICES ARE DOWN 94%— THE FED SHOULD CUT RATES NEXT "The cost of eggs has come down like 93, 94% since we took office. They’re pretty much normally priced now. A great job—our Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, did a very good job. But groceries have come down. It’s all coming down. The only thing that hasn’t come down—but it hasn’t gone up much—are interest rates, and we think the Fed should lower the rate.” Source: @Acyn
