Lots of reasonable replies. All I know is during Covid every theater in area went out business. We went without any for a while until some small company scooped them up and renovated. I am so glad to have an imax theater back that I’m ok with getting charged a lot. I understand that if they don’t, they won’t survive. I don’t want to have to drive 2 hours to go see the newest Nolan movie in IMAX. Yeah it’s expensive, but a movie theater is expensive to run.

@stepfanie If you spend $50 on tickets, the movie theater maybe makes 5-10$ at most. If you spend $50 on snacks, they make like 40-45$. Im ok with this, I only go a few times a year at most and tons of theaters have gone out of business

@AgroNationalism You can think building something is a good idea while also thinking that spending 10x what it should cost is a bad idea. A wildlife bridge is great. A 120 million dollar incomplete wildlife bridge is the opposite of great.

To be clear the wildlife bridge is a good idea. It's a no-brainer money saver. Either pay for the bridge or externalize the cost onto a bunch of different people's cars and lives over time. That's not to mention the loss of the animals lives. Don't let rampant corruption and weaponized incompetentence trick you into thinking good ideas are bad.

@ellonico I got tired of trying to to explain to a friend that in spite of the ballooning costs, the benefit this will have far out weighs the expense of building it. And once it is done, people will act like they were never against it in the first place . Shinkansen all over again
