@salahfavala @TheKopWatch If Liverpool went toe to toe with PSG, they’d be annihilated. Liverpool wouldn’t cope with their pace, and don’t have enough pace on their team to cause PSG problems.

Seeing greats like Salah, De Bruyne, and Gerrard slow down in their early/mid 30s just highlights how special Giggs and Scholes were. Performing at an elite level at 38 & 40, winning leagues, controlling games… that’s a different standard altogether.

Giggs didn’t even start half the games that season. I don’t think even you would argue he was Utd’s best player, let alone the best player in the league that year.

Anyway Giggs and Scholes only won 24 PL titles between them, but weren’t top class players apparently 🙄

@FootballEra_ Liverpool have been awful for about a year. But Man Utd in 2013/14, Chelsea in 2015/16 and Leicester in 2016/17 have all been worse defending champions. Might be a few more too.

Scholes came out of retirement when City won the league, and played a small role in United winning it the year after.

It’s not poor timing from anyone, I did this interview before Salah announced his decision. Then went on the overlap a day after the Salah announcement & brought up I’d put him 6th on the LFC list.
The club decided to put it out before I gave away my full list!

No debate who’s had the better career and which player is in the conversation for the best players ever to play. But Ronaldo’s best football was at RM. His PL seasons weren’t better than Salah’s.

He still scored in a FA Cup & League cup final (Salah hasn’t) .
He scored 18 in the prem in 2021 so that’s 4 seasons.

Ronaldo’s six season in the PL weren’t better than Salah’s nine. Even comparing their best season, Salah’s numbers were better.

Kaka Ronaldo Messi who were the top 3 back then were ‘actually the best players in the world’.

@UtdBart @AJ_MUFC25 @Carra23 Not quite the way it works though. Ronaldo’s exceptional PL season in 2007/08 rightfully won him the Ballon d’Or.
But we’re judging them on their PL career only, remember. Ronaldo reached ten goals in three of his seasons.
In 8 full seasons, Salah’s worst goal tally was 18.

If you’re using Ronaldo’s one extra title to argue your case, again - applying the same logic, Danny Drinkwater had a better PL career than Bruno Fernandes.
