I have shared this earlier on Reddit RE: the 96+ bracket world being full, but just wanted to post here too for those that might not see it there. First of all, let me just pass on an extended apology from all of us here on the OSRS team. You have every right to be frustrated and annoyed about how the 96+ bracket situation has gone down. We are not happy about it either. An apology doesn't do anything to help fix things right now, and it doesn't make up for the time those of you hoping to log in have taken away from work or your families. This is on us. A single game world for the bracket was sufficient for previous events, and we didn't expect capacity to fill up so soon. In hindsight, it should have been clear that this wouldn't be the case with how much more accessible DMM: Annihilation was vs previous events. The unfortunate reality is that because we had T&C's attached to the finale due to the prizes on offer, we are obligated under UK competition laws to continue with the event as it was advertised. Even adding more worlds with no prizes today isn't an option for us, which we explored as soon as we saw the world filling up as fast as it did. We are committed to doing what we can for those of you who weren't able to log in, but we need to work with both our legal and games teams before we can confirm anything. This will take some time, which is why we need to wait for next week (23rd-27th Feb) - I hope that we're able to come back with something early in the week, but for now this is all I am able to share with you. Once again, sorry for how this has happened. We hope that you've at least been able to enjoy the action unfold and we'll be in touch as soon as we're able to.

What a fucking joke jagex support is. My husband's email was hijacked and they changed the log in email for his jagex account. Guess what they have no way to recover jagex accounts. They literally force you to use an account that you cannot recover. @JagexSupport

@jssiOSRS This one is insane. Completely defeats the point of backup codes if all it takes is changing the email to lock someone out of all their accounts.

Friend of mines email was compromised which resulted in them losing access to their jagex account. The rs account was untouched, but they have no way of getting the account back because of the way jagex system is currently. Makes no sense to me why there’s no recovery options.
