MIT Sloan Management Review
Companies are pouring money and effort into AI while overlooking a simple truth about adoption and governance: The real work happens at the team level. A recent survey of 348 business leaders reveals a critical gap between usage rules and realities. Seventy-two percent say corporate leadership should establish overall AI guidelines while individual teams set their own rules. Team leaders understand local context, judgment calls, and daily risks. So why aren’t you delegating more power to them? mitsmr.com/47hLrzI

watching @potus more carefully recently has really changed my perspective on him (i wish i had done more of my own thinking and definitely fell in the npc trap). i'm not going to agree with him on everything, but i think he will be incredible for the country in many ways!

I'VE SEEN TECHNOLOGY RESHAPE OUR WORLD REPEATEDLY. PREVIOUS TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS AMPLIFIED HUMAN CAPABILITIES BUT DIDN'T FUNDAMENTALLY ALTER THE ESSENCE OF HUMAN INTELLECT. THEY EXTENDED OUR REACH BUT DIDN'T MULTIPLY OUR MINDS. Artificial intelligence is different. It's past the point where a difference in degree becomes a difference in kind. AI amplifies and multiplies the human brain, much like steam engines once amplified muscle power. Before engines, we consumed food for energy and that energy we put to work. Engines allowed us to tap into external energy sources like coal and oil, revolutionizing productivity and transforming society. AI stands poised to be the intellectual parallel, offering a near-infinite expansion of brainpower to serve humanity. AI promises a future of unparalleled abundance. However, as we transition to a post-scarcity society, the journey may be complex, and the short term may be painful for those displaced. Mitigating these challenges requires well-reasoned policy. The next 0–10 years, 10–25 years, and 25–50 years will each be radically different. The pace of change will be hard to predict or anticipate, especially as technology capabilities far exceed human intelligence and penetrate society at varying rates. The most important reason to treat people well is not what you'll get in return. It's who you hope to become. Kindness is not about reciprocity or karma. It's about character. Civility doesn't need to be justified with consequences. Respecting others is the right thing to do.

The language of "noise" and "signal" is widely accepted at Microsoft internally. I love this perspective and practical advice from the giant Dave Ulrich here. lnkd.in/gaBS6Muu
