The Ministry of Defence has lost track of most of the 95,000 veterans on its strategic reserve recall list. These ex-service personnel are still legally required to return to duty if a national emergency is declared. Officials admit they no longer hold up-to-date contact details or locations for the vast majority, especially those discharged over six years ago.
