My adoptive family disowned me when I came out 20 years ago. I've officially given up hope of ever reconnecting with them, my brother or my sister. I've done everything a human being can do.
I do not understand how someone can take a child, adopt them and promise to love them, watch them struggle their whole life - then throw them out like trash when they tell you the same thing they repeatedly said when they were a child, "I'm supposed to be a girl."
I just filed a request with the state of Virgina to unseal my adoption records so I can contact my birth family. I need family connection to people besides my husband.
It's going to be extremely awkward doing this since, you know, they gave up a son. But I'm not going through another decade alone.
If they reject me too, I do not know how I will process it.

In about an hour I go in for my biopsy. And to be honest, I’m not concerned about it, or the chemo or radiation to come. I’m not afraid of it. I’ve been through enough in my life to not fear whatever will be.
But what does worry me, in fact terrifies me, is my baby. She’s all I care about now. I need to drag this all out as long as possible so that she can develop and grow enough to be taken out safely. That’s my focus. That’s my goal. My daughters have been amazing. Broken at first but they know I’ll fight and they’re good girls, braver than anybody I know. And my son will be ok. My in laws will help whenever they can and hopefully my husband will be back real soon.
It’s been a really long two years. Right now in my mind, she’s all that matters. So many of you have become so dear to me. And no matter what comes it’s not in my control, but I adore you, and that is in my control😊
If there’s one place I’m glad I’m in right now with what’s coming, it’s here in Israel. We have the best of the best here. Maybe that’s why Hashem brought us back here.
