@AndyWoodturner It’s ridiculous. I’m on some AI cyber list this week. The call screening/filter option on iPhone has sorted it though. Screens any number not i. my contacts to a live voice mail that transcribes their answer so you can choose to answer or not.

Call from: 07418 366 175 "Can I speak to Andy, please?" Who is this? "I'm Sam from the British Medical Association." No you're not. "Yes I am." No you're not. "Yes I am." You're really not. Go away. Blocking your number... End call and block number...

Maybe I am very stupid, but is it possible to actually sign a pdf digitally without paying a subscription somewhere? Does this exist anymore?

@ChudThePedo @BNOFeed South African hantavirus cases are classic rodent-to-human. Health authorities are treating this exactly as they should, low risk, proper tracing. No panic needed.

@BNOFeed Hantavirus typically spreads through contact with rodents, not person-to-person. This hospitalization appears to be a precautionary measure while the RIVM (Dutch health agency) conducts its assessment.

@DcnB_LovesJesus if in the UK, we got a denial of liberty form sorted out which meant the hospital could apply for extra funding for a 1:1 care nurse. This was after us doing 24x7 shifts for a week as she was delirious in an A&E side room (no beds elsewhere!) - they could not have kept her safe.

@DcnB_LovesJesus Definitely, and make sure both parents have LPA’s in place. This happened to my 92 yr old MIL in October, very suddenly, but the LPA’s (including Health & Welfare) that were in place for some years before allowed her Sons to make the right decisions for her straight away.

One thing Hospitals could do better: when an elderly parent goes in for major surgery, make sure the child knows more about what is going to happen…not just the OTHER elderly parent. 8 days after surgery and my 89 yearly old MIL is restrained because post-surgery delirium and “sundowning” is still happening. She ripped out her oxygen tube the first day and was trying to pull out her IV also. And her 88 year old husband (my FIL) is just reacting to everything, getting angry at the nurses and doctors, which ain’t helping. Meanwhile, my wife, only child, is trying to manage everything. Please pray for her. And her parents. This is very hard…

@SaulStaniforth @HasisD Can’t see this being resolved quickly and even then will be very unpredictable, subject to sudden closures. A long term pivot away from that supply route looks needed. Not an expert though! just good at trends and people.

@sarobertsonca All I see is a small, petty failure of a man who skated by in his role as Governor of the Bank of Canada solely on the talent of Jim Flaherty, faffed it up entirely as Governor of the Bank of England & was installed as PM of Canada before his reputation caught up with him.

As the world around us grows ever more frightening and loud and frankly bonkers, I find it hugely reassuring to watch how Nature carries on regardless. Paying no heed to our politics and crises, she breezes through the lanes. As the daffodils fade, the dandelions bloom. The hawthorn hedges are green again and the chiff-chaffs have returned. No matter what happens in Westminster or Washington, soon the bluebells will brighten the woods, the swallows will fly in, and the oak leaves will unfurl. Out here, all is as it should be. 📍 Peak District, England

Hugely, frighteningly disappointing to be at reception in the @premierinn Lincoln City Centre today and overhear the male check-in clerk LOUDLY ANNOUNCE a lone woman’s room number to her and all of us in reception. This is absolutely unacceptable, unsafe behaviour.

@VeryBadLlama People don’t realise there would be a 10 year nuclear winter in which nothing would grow. See recent research on this. And the book Nuclear War by Annie Jacobsen was essential to understand. It’s a ‘never’ event otherwise we are finished.

@ch402 It’s not surprising to me. Who we are, why we are here, what is consciousness is at the core of human output in terms of art, fiction, psychological health, striving for self-actualisation. It features in every civilisations’ history. And therefore all of the AI training data.
