Along with all of the other crap that's come out about Travelodge, we also have 'Jade' who is clearly an AI bot using customer service tweeness like 'this matter', 'please may you DM' and 'email address for yourself'. It's guff.

@hselftax @GWRHelp I used to travel through Oxford station twice a week for work, and the ladies loos were invariably disgusting. I gave up complaining to GWR and to station staff. That was nearly 3 years ago, so it's very disappointing (but not surprising) to hear they're still in the same state.

@GWRHelp I had the misfortune to visit the ladies’ toilets at Oxford station today. They were disgusting and had clearly not been properly cleaned for some time. I understand that the station is managed by GWR and that many complaints have been made. Please take action!

Hugely, frighteningly disappointing to be at reception in the @premierinn Lincoln City Centre today and overhear the male check-in clerk LOUDLY ANNOUNCE a lone woman’s room number to her and all of us in reception. This is absolutely unacceptable, unsafe behaviour.

@sueranson @premierinn The thing is, in my experience, they do not. I stay in a lot of Premier Inns and Hub by Premier Inns, and the keycard is handed to me with the room number written on the card holder. It’s rare indeed for it to be verbally given, as it’s explicitly against policy!

@beckstar2 @premierinn They always do this. I have experienced this many times. But when I’m in my room I always lock the door as this should stop someone trying to enter by using the swipe card. I am also cautious that nobody is lurking when I go back to my room

But still the same name which confuses so many visitors. To many people Oxford Tube just sounds like an informal name for Oxford Circus Underground station. Certainly doesn't suggest a coach service! This would have been the ideal moment for a rebrand/rethink of that identity

@so_says_sally @Helen_Barnard Last time a hotel receptionist said my room number out loud in reception I handed him the keycard back and told him to reallocate me to another room as my security had been compromised. To be fair to him he did so without question.

@Helen_Barnard Security at Travelodge always a worry as solo female guest- regularly loudly announce your room to a full reception. Premier Inn 2 weeks ago - to empty reception - “if you turn this card over you will see you room number”. No one visible to overhear but still think about safety.

Weird thing about Travelodge comms: ‘They followed procedures correctly’ = WORST possible message. Implies anyone staying in any Travelodge can expect staff to hand out room keys in the middle of the night to anyone who knows your name. Doubt that was the crisis comms goal.

@DeraCalla @Jess4Lowestoft @TravelodgeUK But then you risk male members of staff (or people overhearing in reception) knowing you are a lone woman, which I wouldn't be comfortable with either! I often travel alone but always book a Premier Inn room for 2 and get two key cards.

@Jess4Lowestoft @TravelodgeUK Why not just ask people at check-in: - is this room for you only, or will anyone be joining you (and if so what is their full name)? It's not difficult to keep women safe. And when in doubt - say no! Terrible. I'll stay elsewhere.

@Stagecoach_West Eve, at this point I'm sure the drivers know. My point is that no-one was actually told for TWO DAYS that the road was closed, so people waited at stops in vain for a bus that wasn't serving those stops. This should have been communicated via the app AND with signage on stops.

@Stagecoach_West Wow, so no-one at Stagecoach knows about this at all? The 67 has not been serving the 'loop' around Hunters Way/Westrip Lane for TWO DAYS. The road is now reopen, but no-one told the driver so this morning's 67A did a pointless extra loop, making us late.
