@JakoVision @BenPopeCST Unrealistic, you will see changes but expecting massive changes you are setting yourself up to be disappointed due to the situation with the cap around the league. The goal is to make the playoffs and they may not make it. It's not a stretch though.

For the Blackhawks to make the playoffs next year, they'd likely need to make a 20+ point improvement.
That didn't stop Hawks players from setting that expectation, though: "All our guys are ready to make that push."

@BenPopeCST You also have to take into account the unique situation of the market. The Hawks have not been able to capitalize on their cap space because the cap is going up so much. Teams are keeping their talent. The players available for trade are overpayments and UFA market is bad.

@BenPopeCST So much whining in the comments. The team takes a step each year, this year was improvement while giving even more minutes to the young players. They will be a playoff team when the young D are ready and the ice tilts more in their favor as a result.

@ButtFreemanEsq @Mario_Tirabassi During that last season it became very clear that Toews needed time away and Kane needed surgery few players come back from. If those two wanted to be in Chicago they would have been. If Toews was healthy and staying, Kane would have been right there too.

@Mario_Tirabassi The main thing Jonathan Toews was dealing with at the end in Chicago was Kyle Davidson kicking him out of the organization and banning him from ever playing for it again, same as Kane.

@JFreshHockey That injury was a little worse than he let on, as he didn't start taking regular faceoffs again until after the Olympic break. I think he will do better once they put him on Frondell's wing.

Could not catch a break this season. Showed enormous all-around improvement in the first half in terms of skating, motor, etc., disrupted by injury and then sunk by recovery, brutal deployment, and terrible surroundings. The man needs help now - more than just Frondell.
