Pinning this. Feel free to bookmark this. Call me an idiot if I'm wrong: The most likely player to fall to the #Blackhawks is Caleb Malholtra. The second most likely player is... Ivar Stenberg. The Sharks will draft a defenseman. They SHOULD draft a defenseman. I'd be pissed if I was a Sharks fan and they didn't draft a defenseman.

Maybe playing as an F1 with two defensive linemates is easier for a skilled player to do than being tasked with takeaways, creating breakouts, leading the breakout, being the primary creator in the offensive zone, and bailing out any mistakes that his linemates make. Nah.... it's probably just that Mitch sucked because he hates Toronto and randomly started playing well in Vegas.

Amazing highlight reel goal by Mitch Marner!

@HawkHockey11 Yeah I agree with that. Probably should have phrased better, but I think it is relatively easy to make him make quicker decisions as you said. Consistently good decisions is more of a complex development.

@RinksideGeneral I think you can work on him having a plan on puck with the read and play. The processing at speed it’s just kinda like wait for rinzel to grow, Moore to see the ice better, vlasic to be more offensive etc. we’ve always know these weeknesses to start idk if they are quick fixes

It's not good so far, but I agree with JFresh's conclusion here. Also, simple fixes (shorter shifts, more decisive shooting, quicker and better decisions) will go a long way with Levshunov. Natural tools will carry him once he reaches a baseline with those things. #Blackhawks
JFresh@JFreshHockey

Levshunov has had some real struggles in the NHL, especially defensively with particular issues executing plays with the puck in his own zone. That said, these are his age 18 and 19 seasons and he's shown flashes of promising puck-moving as well. Too early to give up.

@HawkHockey11 Fair, I feel that Levshunov's decision-making is very hot and cold though. When he's playing well he can layer decisions, but when one thing goes wrong it tends to snowball. Won't be ironed out, but it still needs to reach a baseline.

@RinksideGeneral Are quick and better decision simple?(agree with the other things listed). If they were I feel he woulda gotten way better since that been the issue since years before he was drafted.

@DanishPastry Honestly he's so good in small areas that I think he might be even better on NHL ice. He'll certainly get better deployment on whichever NHL team he ends up on.

Ivar Stenberg is a serious, serious talent. Don't let the Sharks or Canucks watch this tournament please. #Blackhawks

@RinksideGeneral This is why if the hawks draft him Bedard and Frank will go to Vancouver and Detroit respectively. The only way I see him on the hawks is if he’s drafted at 34th overall.

@JorgeGuapo22 I really don't think it's within the realm of possibility that Bjorck is a Blackhawk unfortunately. The Hawks have been prioritizing size more and more, and they already have a very small top 6. Whichever team gets Bjorck is likely getting a steal.

@RinksideGeneral Allowing myself to dream a bit, though extremely unlikely to happen… Stenberg at 4. Trade back into the early 1st round with ‘27 unprotected, and one (or both) of the EDM/FLA 1sts, to get Björck. Stenberg-Björck-Frondell is a line in Chicago and internationally for 10+ years

@JorgeGuapo22 I'm all in on this agenda, I love Bjorck. Neither player looks out of place. At ALL. Wish Frondell got a chance to play too.

The worst argument against a young player is “they haven’t shown up in the playoffs yet, which means they’re not clutch.” From sample size to learning a new style of game to role to coaching, there are dozens of reasons those takes age horribly. Just back good players.

Macklin Celebrini will remain as captain for Canada at the IIHF World Hockey Championship, with Sidney Crosby wearing an "A." That was decided after a player-lead discussion. The players wanted Celebrini to keep the "C."
