@AllyMcavoy33409 It’s not just the transfer of wealth, We are witnessing a dual extraction: of both wealth and future opportunity from workers to the elite. The elite aren't just draining the pool of wealth; they are pulling up the ladders of opportunity that once surrounded it.

@fat_samuel27 @jdpoc It’s 30%, & income tax is only a quarter of taxation. So that’s 7.5% of all taxes from the Income taxes of the top 1%. Who capture 15% of national earnings. They aren’t subsidising the rest they they're paying less in total tax (as a % of all revenue) than they take in income.

If the #JCB Family of Multi-Millionaires are so hard up to pay proper Inheritance Taxes, why are they able to donate SO MUCH MONEY to #Reform Party? Oh ... so they have expectations of #Reform helping out the Multi-Millionaires? Right. Noted. "Party of the People", eh?

Spot on Liz The real problem with Britain is all those cowardly followers… you know… Bond markets, IMF, BoE, OBR, Pension Funds, & basically anyone with a calculator the real currency disaster was before your mini-budget. Not…you know… the £30bn meltdown after you spoke.
Liz Truss@trussliz

Unfortunately British politics and media is dominated by cowards and followers who have gone along with the Keynsian status quo. They promoted the fake narrative about "austerity" and the 2022 LDI crisis. There was little to no critical analysis of the Net Zero craze or the Bank of England's currency debasement. We are in deep trouble and the starting point is people understanding why.

@thelefttake Literacy was never her strong suit. Refusal to accept accountability, rewriting history, blaming everyone else, is clinically consistent with pathological narcissism and reality distortion

Half of British voters now think we are as rich or richer than Australia, Singapore, Germany, Switzerland and the US. These spectacular levels of delusion have real world effects. They make people think we can afford ever-growing public expenditure and "freebies".

@trussliz Its spelt “Keynesian”, not Keynsian you halfwit and if you believe that is the status quo after Thatcher obliterated it in the 1980s then you might be even stupider than your inability to spell and your tragic tenure as PM suggests.

@SaulStaniforth @JOwusuNepaul The famous “how do we pay for it” argument. Always when it’s something that helps the majority. It’s never asked when MPs hand contracts to their friends, subsidise corporations that avoid paying their fair share, bail them out when they fail, and endless wars we start.

@therealmissjo I’m pretty sure you need proof of ID for housing benefit. People can also get denied it for the wording in their contract being “wrong” even if they do have ID.

Did you know? The UK has the largest Somali population in Europe. 183,000 Somalians live in the UK - mostly in London, Birmingham and Manchester. Or so we think… The Muslim Council actually estimated it at 250,000 more than 10 years ago. The problem is that many don’t appear on official records, or hold a passport. They are most unskilled or partially skilled. Somalians have the highest housing benefit claims rate at 45%.

@0Calamity Interrogating the obviously flawed premise has no effect on these cretins Jane, they’d rather be inflamed than informed. Mutual Gaslighting & punching down for shits & giggles is their idea of sport. Sad

The Telegraph are doing their monthly "please feel bad for the rich" article, but appear to have learnt not to precisely disclose what these people are spending their £5,000+ monthly take-home on.

The NHS doesn't have a profit margin to take care of, so I'd imagine there's not actually very much a private company could do cheaper, lol.
Sup@nursebro01

@BareLeft The question of how much of the NHS budget became profit is irrelevant. If the private company is providing a service the NHS can not provide itself for cheaper then that profit is money well spent.

@CsoFringe @BareLeft Well,, 3 times the median isn’t rich. You’d still need to put real effort into your periodical budgeting. Rich feels effortless. 3 times median doesn’t deliver effortless. At least, not for very long.
