In 2013, U.S. Army Green Beret Nick Lavery stepped in front of machine g*n fire during an insider a**ack in Afghanistan, saving a teammate but losing his own leg. The burst shattered his leg and severed his femoral artery, forcing an above-the-knee amp*tation to save his life. Instead of retiring, Lavery underwent more than 30 surgeries and intense rehabilitation, determined to return to duty. By 2015, he became the first above-the-knee amputee in U.S. military history to return to active combat, later completing elite training courses and continuing his service.

Periodista: ¿Entonces no vas a hacer nada? ¡y punto!” Vía @Jhonffonseca

Private Matthew Wiese was on a flight when a fifteen year old kid looked over at him and quietly asked, "Can I rest my head against you for comfort, I'm afraid of flying and I think it would help?"... The young solider said, "Of course". When later asked about this simple act of kindness, Pvt Wiese responded back with, "This is what I Love about being an American soldier in the US Army. I Love that people look at me for comfort." Today, I want to thank the Private for his service to our nation and for having a Loving heart. So many of us take for granted the comfort that our US Military provides to us in so many different ways. Soldiers like him are who make our military great.

Dear Lawrence O’Donnell*, I’m WOMAN ENOUGH to know that “Leave no man behind” included women like me, should I have been captured or fallen behind enemy lines. I don’t need language to bend, or changed around “feeling” included. You don’t speak on my behalf. *and other Low-T men, that think they get to speak on behalf of women, like me.

I work from home, and sometimes it gets boring and lonely, so recently I’ve taken to answering those Indian scammer calls on my headset and dragging them out as long as possible with increasingly bizarre antics. Today I had one where the scammer was trying to get me to buy gift cards at a store and send him the codes so he could allegedly send me cash. I don’t even know what the scam was supposed to be—it was really poorly thought out on their end—but I played along. After about 30 minutes of pretending I was incredibly incompetent—having all sorts of difficulty starting my car and getting to the store—I told the guy I had arrived at Walmart. You could hear the excitement in his voice—this was a man who clearly had very little success doing this. I even played sound effects from YouTube videos I had open in a bunch of tabs so he could hear me parking, entering the store, etc. “Yes, sir! Very good! Cannot wait—I can send you the cash!” Then things got interesting. I told him to hold on while I got the cards, explaining that I didn’t have any money. He became a bit concerned and said, “Please, sir, just buy the cards.” Then, as loud as I could, right in his ear: “EVERYONE GET ON THE FUCKING GROUND! I’VE GOT A GUN!” plays YouTube clip of people screaming The guy lost it: “Oh my God, sir, what are you doing?! Oh my God! Oh my God! Please stop!” Too late. For about five minutes, I narrated a high-stakes robbery, complete with me losing my cool, gunshot sound effects, audio clips of women screaming, etc. It was the most harrowing five minutes of this poor guy’s life, as he kept telling me to stop and just give him the card numbers quickly. When it was over, I made sure to let him know that I got the cards and killed anyone who tried to stop me—just as he had asked. Clearly nervous he would somehow be implicated in this robbery-turned–mass murder he facilitated overseas, he emphatically told me that he only wanted me to buy the cards and did not ask me to do any of this. I ended with a police siren and me pretending to run away before screaming, playing the gunshot sound effects again, and abruptly ending the call. I honestly don’t know why he stayed on the call as long as he did, considering how panicked he sounded at various points—maybe he thought I’d still give him the card numbers and PINs after the botched robbery—but I can’t imagine Mr. Patel will be scamming anyone for some time. So—how did you guys spend your workday?

My dad died last week, and I never want him to be forgotten, so humor me while I tell you about him. - He had three sisters and three daughters. Born to be a girl dad. The best dad in the world, even to his dog Max. - He loved live music. - He loved Golden Knights hockey. He lived down the street from the arena for years and could hear the horn before they'd score on TV, so he'd always know before me lol. - He had a better singing voice than he'd like to admit. - He watched my clients like they were his own kids. Every time anyone caught a ball, he saw. He texted me every single time. - He was a truck driver to start his career, and he loved the road. He lived in his RV for a few of his last years on earth. - He loved his granddaughters. His last words were "love you baby" to my 2-year-old niece. - He loved boats. We owned wave runners for a few years and we had so much fun. - He loved treating people. He was so kind and generous. His success was only fun if he could share it with others. - He bought every daughter a house at some point as an investment for himself and for us. - He wanted more time. He loved life. For my dad today, please call someone you love. Do something fun this weekend. Buy the concert tickets, go eat a big fancy meal. Buy someone a random gift for no reason. I'll spend the rest of my life telling people about him.

🚨 BREAKING: Incredible moment as Artemis II pilot Victor Glover shares the Gospel mere MOMENTS before reaching the back side of the Moon, losing communication with Earth "Christ said, in response to what was the greatest command, that it was to love God with all that you are." 🙏🏻 "And he also, being a great teacher, said the second is equal to it, and that is to love your neighbor as yourself." "And so, as we prepare to go out of radio communication, we're still going to feel your love from Earth, and to all of you down there on earth and around earth, we love you from the moon." ❤️

We’re being told this country is broken beyond repair. And then this happens. An American Olympic gold medalist, bloodied and grinning, wrapped in the Stars and Stripes, after decades of waiting, sacrifice, and belief, reminding the world what it looks like when America rises again. 🇺🇸 Two kids on a quiet sidewalk, watching Artemis II tear through the sky, like history reaching forward and backward at once, reminding us we are still the nation that dares to go farther. 🚀 And an American Air Force colonel, shot down over enemy territory, alone in the mountains of Iran for 48 hours, hunted, wounded, waiting, And America came for him anyway. Through the dark. Through the risk. Through the fire. Because we don’t leave our own. Same year. Same country. Not spin. Not noise. This is real. They can keep selling division. They can keep feeding the noise. But this? This is different. This is who we are when it matters. Not perfect. Not polished. But still capable of courage. Still capable of wonder. Still capable of loyalty. The darkness is loud right now. But the light? The light doesn’t ask permission. It just shows up. GOD BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸❤️ HAPPY EASTER 💜

He pulled into his driveway after a long day... and came straight across the street. Didn’t go inside. Didn’t pause. Just walked over like he already knew where he was needed. Roman was waiting with his firetruck, and before a word was even said, Mr. Wade was down on the sidewalk playing like nothing else mattered. I was right there... watching it, letting it happen. Because there are some things you don’t interrupt. He has me for all the everyday moments, the routines, the constant kind of love. And then there are moments like this... something different, just as real. My boy doesn’t need a lot. Just someone who chooses to stop, to sit, to stay. And somehow, Mr. Wade always does.
